Still Gettin Greater!
What are y'all thoughts on the album now?
-
its till a tite ass album i cna listen 2 almost all of it str8 threw only skip a few songs here n there i still luv the song "still dre" and "la niggaz"
-
when i first bought it, i was bumping it all the time, but as time went on, I became more interested in lyrically talented, in addition to phat beats. Listening to it now, I get bored with the songs because not only have I heard the cd at parties over the past 3 years, but the lyrics are flat out boring in some spots. Don't get me wrong, I still love "The Next Episode", "Still D.R.E.", "Housewife", and "Bang, Bang", but other songs just bore me now
-
Fuck U Best Song.
-
Well im not really feeling it as much as before when it first came out, people who said this was the West's Best Album in a Long Time were obviously wrong, as STREETZ IZ A MUTHA is much better then this.....when i listen to this album nowadays i find myself skipping quite a few tracks....

Best West Coast album since Bow Down. Classic.

Best West Coast album since Bow Down. Classic.

I still don't know why Dre, Eminem, and the rest these artists think skits like the ones on 2001 make albums better.
Why have them on there? Right now they are instant fast-forward material.
-
I like the first half after that I take it out, Not by any means a classic in my book. and too many skits.
-
Best West Coast album since Bow Down. Classic.
Word... I totally agree... although Id say Bow Down is better then 2001...
Peace
-
This album is like a therapist for me. I can put it on no matter how I feel, I'll feel better after listening to it. I guess I'm the only one, but I like the skits, IMO it's better than having just a bunch of songs put together, the skits are what make the album what it is. If it were just the 18 songs it would have been like a Dre mixtape or something. 2001 is my 2nd favorite album of all time (The Chronic is 1st). I still listen to it daily. I have a copy in my house and a copy in my car.
-
damn thats seems sooo long ago,,,,,it was really tha last album that i didnt hear any of tha tracks early that got leaked onto the net......i remember check the board on dreday.com, as much as i check dubcc for tha latest news on it,,,, i remember one dude that said dre bought a biggie verse from puffy and was gonna use it on 2001 and i believed him lol......11-16-99 is a date ill always remember

Best West Coast album since Bow Down. Classic.
nuff said. and damn, thats 3 years now :o :o :o :o that just shows how time flies...
-
I still love the songs i loved when it came out, still hate the songs i hated when it came out and it's still the best commercial album to come out since Doggystyle.
-
Definitely a classic
One Of The Best Albums I Know
-
Still as dope as it was when it first dropped, i've thought of it as a classic since then but now I would back that up even more, I mean it's been 3 years already and longevity was the only thing that was stopping it being a full blown classic back then.
-
I'm feelin' it more than ever. This album has got to be like one of the best ever. And the more I listen to it, the more I get hooked into it, same thing with The Chronic, Doggystyle & Warren's Regulate... G-Funk Era. Could never give those albums up.
God man, it's been 3 years and nobody has come up with an album that I'd dig more than 2001. That's easily explained though: It's been 3 years since Dr. Dre made an album. ;)
Dr. Dre - The one and the only. Always comin' up with classic material.
-
This lp still has the same bang....although with Dre pimpin' his beats out to alot of expossed eastcoast artist's & singers it seem's to be getting a lil' more & more watered down by the month.
But this lp is def the Real Blueprint to what the millenium was going to sound like.....Dre was...is and always shall be ahead of the game.
I still hate "Still Dre"
I still foward past "Forgot about Dre"
I still Bump "Ackrite" on the daily
I still wish Dre pushed Hitt more than he did certain other's..
I still love and rock the Instrumental verion....WHoa!!
u gain alot of respect for the skit's when u hear them without the talk, just the bump.
OnE'
Hatesrats 2oo2
Dope lp...I loved it since it dropped.
-
its a dope album, although I don't bump it too often anymore because I am bombarded with music. But I still bump the og chronic more than this one.
-
the first half of the album is like the best commercail shit to come out in like a decade from a nigga im my opinion and set a new blueprint for beatmaking
peace

and word on it being the best album to come out since all the death row stuff and bow down
-
The production is a 5/5, one of the best produced albums ever...The lyrics except for the Eminem written joints were ass...If you rate it against The Chronic and Doggystyle even though those albums weren't known for their lyrics they were alot better lyrically with Snoop, DOC and Kurupt rather than Hitman doing most of the writing...
-
fuck all tha shit i said up on my thread a few minutes ago all i got to say is: Classic
-
Man...I remember going to like 2 stores before I found a copy the day it dropped. Never have I gone through so much hoopla and anticipation in my life for one CD. It was a great time, and bumpin "Forgot About Dre" for the first time my friend and I were like, "OOOOOOOHHHHH!." I remember "Tha Next Episode" being a banger from the moment I heard it.
LoL, thenext day I brought it to school and it got taken away from me...I imediatley went out and bought another copy, haha.
I remember talking about this a year ago, seems we do it each year. I've been listening to the album less now, think the last time was in the summer. It is still a classic LP on the production tip.
-
I liked the 1st half and hated the 2nd half. To be honest i stopped listening to it after a month of release.
I prefered "Streetz iz a muther" BY FAR over 2001

Amazing album, beats dope and all the guest's do there shit well. Every song is a must listen too and nearly all songs are dopppppe as fuck. Album is a classic and after I bought it I showed it to about 4 friends and they went and got it too!!
-
Motherfuckers i jus wanna kidnap dre like what Abbusayaf Guerrillas did to those tourist in Indonesia and lock him in my toilet with studio just to make beats for me only man. This Nigga is talent not talented feel me. This is a fuckin addictive album never believe what that bum said because is done.
-
its still hella tight to me.
