Title: Who is the most overrated rapper ever?
Post by: Jome on November 18, 2002, 05:38:45 PM
Dead or alive, who is the most overrated?
These are some of the biggest artist, i.e. Ras Kass or Chino XL can not be overrated in the same way as these.

Wow.. the only name that comes to mind is Ja-Fool.  Hes gotta be the worst thing to hit rap since Master P.  But the difference is that I respect P.  Ja is nothing more then a Pac bitter.  I hate his new album cover. (wanna be Makaveli style.. with the sword thru his name and shit!)

without a doubt its tupac...cmon for the 4 or so years hes was around(90 to 94) he never was regarded as great...he wasnt even regarded as anything special and he was not this super thug like everyone thinks...but the moment he touched down on deathrow in 95 he became this hardcore thug rapper...which was complete bullshit...he got at rappers for no reason...when he shouldve been gettin at kill or 51.50 who were really dissing him...he made the west coast seem like it was filled with disgruntled rappers...when in reality he was the only one mad at the world...he got punked by suge...but he made it seem like he was this down ass muthafucka who would get down onsite...he got punked by king tee in a club and didnt do shit about it...king tee snatched his rag off his head and pac didnt do shit...what kinda thug is that?...and he contradicted himself way too much...one minute hes talkin about dear mama(which he stole from kill kill) and keep ya head up...the next he was dissin chicks...he was a politcal rapper then the next thing u know hes talkin about a gangster party...he was from new york and baltimore..next thing u know hes talkin about california love...he was an acting school attendee and a background dancer and then he becomes this manly man...lol...he dropped a few solid albums no doubt when he was alive...and a good one when he died...anything after that was lame...not to mention he ruined deathrow...he basically ran dre out...which forced snoop to make a below average album...and after that deathrow just fell...pac gets no respect from me...

If you voted for Pac or Em, smack yourself. Hard.

Jay Z is easily the most overrated of all time. Made two good albums, and people call him one of the best ever. He aint even in my top 20.......

Because I only wanted to have legit hiphop-artists in the poll.
Nelly & Ja Rule is pop, as far as I can see.

I just took the 5 most famous & most-selling hiphop-artists.
If you axe me, they are all overrated, in one way or another.
But of course they're all great rappers..

Good point...

*Slaps himself for thinking Ja Rule as a hip-hop artist*

My bad.

Out of that list I'd have to go with either Snoop or Jay-Z, although I'm feelin' them both. But since Snoop has got Doggystyle under his belt and since I got maaaaad love for the Best Coast, I'm sayin' Jay-Z.
