Title: What does this mean in Madden '03....???

i have the Niners in Madden and im playing franchise mode......its 4th year......but it says "holdout"   for jeff garcia........but what does that mean????  i extended his contract.....i thought that would do it but no!  somebody help me???

it means he wants more money/years.  if u dont give it 2 him he wont play
