Title: Snoop using 5 year old material on new album
Post by: fabtoxicp on December 05, 2009, 01:43:22 PM
the track "Special" is over 5 years old. it was recorded wit Pharrell during the sessions of "R&G" back in 04, and has been available to the public online on one of the advance-versions of the "R&G" album for years. now, that specific song is definitely one of my favorites on the whole friggin album, but to slid in old material for a "studio-album" is just not ok. if it is for a mixtape, dat'b b ok, but for an album.. neeh.. yeah sure, the song is wonderful, but if the song was recorded almost 6 years ago, n it has been available, i woudn't want dat to be on my "album".. dammit..

a few more examples:
"Blast 'Em" off Snoop's new "I Wanna Rock"-mixtape - was available on his compilation "Unreleased Heat Rocks", released in 2006

and the worst and most ridiculous of em all goes too - Mr D-a-z
"Time An Time Again" Daz Dillinger feat Z-Ro, featured on Daz' new compilation-abum "Who Ride Wit Us Vol 4", was available on Z-Ro's album "Z-Ro Tolerance", in 2001 (!!!!) 9 years ago

DPG - what the FUCK are you doin!?!?  ;D 8) ;D 8)

"Time And Time Again" is, together with the track wit the collabo wit the Japan-rappers, the best track of the compilation. but it's the principle.. u CAN'T use 9 year old material on ur fuccin album - dat's fuckin crazy.. honestly, delmar. i know u record alotta material, i know u have more in ur vault..  8)

U must not be familiar with the Who Ride With Us compilations, its features and remixs. The other 1s are full of apperances and previously released songs.

As for special I Havnt heard the new version to compare but maybe he just liked the lyrics he wrote for his wife. I was disappointed by the number of tracks. Most of his albums have atleast 18 tracks

Yeah shits sad. Daz might be the worst. The old material he releases isn't avaliable to the public but we've read its old (like the "Caught Up in the Game" song he did with Joe Budden, the song with Obie Trice, and the song with Kurupt/E-40).

A lot of the album is composed of leftovers from past albums: Pimpin ain't EZ is from BCT, Special from R&G, Different Languages from Ego Trippin...etc. etc.

Good to see Snoop worked hard on Malice N Wonderland.

Wasn't the old point of the WRWU series that it was older, often released songs anyway? I mean the first one was mostly previously-released Daz songs from compilations and other people's projects. What's the big deal anyway? In teh case of Snoop, whatever.

Pretty much. I really couldn't care how old any material is as long as the shit is good. Like for instance, I never knew how old that Royce track was but I'm glad it's on the album because it smacks.

Nottz said that Pimpin ainit Eazy was recorded in 2007. the song was too dope to throw on a mixtape and didn't fit the overall sound on Ego Trippin. I guess every song on Malince N Wonderland is recycled.

Yeah but he's dissed alot of other forum members even when they weren't saying anything bad about Daz, just simply stating facts about his songs. Daz is a fucking crybaby.
