Alicia stays 100 percent on good intro track conversion.. Nice start.
-
Second track, really dislike Krucial's use of the mainstream drumlines now.. I like the 80's feel they doing now, but sometimes the drums just too much, lol. It's like too popping sometimes, I want a more chillled out production for A Keys.. Oh well.
Try sleeping with a broken heart: Possibly her best crossover track. Really went universal on this one..
-
On track 5, gonna ipod the rest and go play NHL, be back later.
-
amazing album, my this year favourite r&b album, production excellent as always and I dont have to talk about Alicia
-
oh Alicia has a new Album? Hope it's more like her first 2 albums and not a weak Pop Album like her last effort.
-
ok, I'm through now, and I'm really pleased. I like the sound of this album, very fresh and soulful production. Only dislike 2 cuts. Alicia's songwriting is not always the best, but this album is 10 times better than 'As I Am'. Favourite tracks are 3, 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14 for now.
for me, between 4,5/5 and 5/5

weak? Damn, I loved the last one from start to finish

ok, you're right, it wasn't weak, it was also fire ;D , but this one >>>As I Am
-
Back.
If you took the production of last album, added an 80's vibe, and the song content of the first and second album, you get this.
In spots it's like she is purposely singing with a coarse voice, don't like it that much... You can hear her pre As I Am voice more on the backing vocals.
Not totally back to the old days, but a big step in the right direction since a disappointing last outting.
3.5/5
-
So far I think its her worst album... need to give it more spins to judge it
-
I know a lot of people that didn't really like "As I Am", but it was near classic to me.
I like this new one too. "Put in a love song" is the only song I'm not really into. "Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)" is :o :o :o
-
When is this coming out? Gonna give this a listen after I cop it
-
Got to check this out, alicia keys is a serious talent, hope its more like her older stuff though. 8)

Alicia Keys albums >>>>>>>>> Beyonce's albums
It's great to see a female artist like Alicia Keys who can still make great music that you can feel in your heart. Not just feel in your nuts. I haven't heard the rest of the album, but that "Sleeping With A Broken Heart" is a powerful, powerful song!
-
her last album was a complete bore, I'm hesitant to even waste my time with this

It's a bit better, but if you were a fan of hers because of her first two albums only, don't bother with this...
-
Wow, "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart" is amazing. Reminds me of Top Gun
-
is it any good?

Did you not read any of the previous posts?

Alicia is one of the few RnB artists I check cause unlike Rihanna and Beyonce she doesn't shout when she sings and doesn't sound so strained. Plus she always makes those nice piano melodies.
-
Drake wrote "Unthinkable". I am now a huge drake fan.
-
checked this out quickly, loved her first two albums, but not really feeling this. production didn't seem to fit right...
-
"Through it all" is nice too
-
I've only heard sleeping with a broken heart, and unthinkable. I'm pleased with those tracks so I'll be checking out the rest of the album next week.
-
Damn, gotta check this shit too, so many albums to listen to.
Alicia Keys albums >>>>>>>>> Beyonce's albums
How are these two artists even comparable?
