Wow if that woulda connected that woulda been a huge suspension commin his way. I love Ariza but damn taht was a cheap shot. Derozen got the steal and was goin up the floor when Ariza threw taht at the back of his. Wonder if he will get suspended.
-
they really should stop playing NBA games on Sunday until the NFL season is over
maybe it's ok to schedule cities with no NFL teams like LA, OKC, Utah, SAS, Toronto or Cleveland
yes i say Cleveland because the Browns are a joke :D
-
video?
-
^it just happened a few minutes ago in their game.
you can probably catch a highlight sometime soon; I'm sure a video will go up in a little while too though.
-
If I was Derozen's brother I'd probably beat Ariza up with some friends. I don't know why this is not happening all the time.
-
that was bulllshit. what a dirty move. glad he didnt connect with that. Ariza should catch a suspension either way

he better be suspended for that; no need for that BS.
-
ehh, watching from that angle looking down on them, it didn't seem all that bad.
but i guess the intent will get him a game; i wouldn't have called anything though.
-
might as well try to sock the nigga its alot safer, if he hit him hard enough with the elbow, it would of been bad.

lmao ur a idiot bro, if that woulda connected u woulda called soemething, the intent was there. U must be dumber then i thot.

...? ???
what? i saw the clip, he threw and elbow & missed.
last time i checked, elbows are thrown in 100% of all NBA games, this was just a tad more violent & noticable.
& yes...if it did connect, i would have called something lmfao.

yea, but those elbows arnt thrown at faces or the back of the head. the thing is, that elbow was intentional and it could of done some harm.
hell even a punch on the back of the head can knock you out so imagine what an elbow would do. if it connected he would of gotten fucked up, prob would of had to left the game and ariza would prob got a much harsher punishment.

but he didn't connect, he could of theoretically "killed him" if it connected, but he missed lol.
i think he missed intentionally too, you really think he just naturally swung & missed? he would have thrown a punch if he wanted to really hurt him.
he was frustrated, emotions get the best of you.

i highly doubt it would of killed him, but it would of knocked him out for a couple mins. but if u saw that he didnt intentionally miss, but he obviously he restrained himself by not going all the with it, he basically threw out an elbow out of fustration and if his head was gonna be there, than fuck it.
but lol a punch? i doubt a punch would hurt anybody let alone an professional athelete, only thing itll do is piss the other nigga and make him wanna fight. im positive the elbow would hurt allot more and do alot more damage than just a punch.
-
^agreed.
but i'm saying, if he REALLY wanted to hit Derozen, he would of thrown the punch when he realized his elbow wasn't long enough to hit him.
it was just a frustration swing, but i personally don't think he actually wanted to hit him.
-
Am I the only one that wanted that shit to connect? IMO the NBA needs more fights like the good old days when Bird and Barkley were playing... ;D
-
I like Ariza but that was a total cheap shot

u crazy lol. Fuck the missing him/intent shit. What an idiot (Ariza). He'll get a suspension as he deserves it.
-
Just saw the video... that shit was vicious, wow. If he lands that, Derozan is HURT

Ariza suspended for 1 game (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Avl.HIoksryTPdyl695JObk5nYcB?slug=ap-rockets-arizasuspended&prov=ap&type=lgns)
HOUSTON (AP)—Houston Rockets forward Trevor Ariza(notes) says he’s earned a one-game suspension after he was ejected from Sunday’s game in Toronto for throwing a forearm at Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan(notes).
Ariza said Monday that he’ll have to sit out Tuesday’s game against Detroit. NBA spokesman Tim Frank would not immediately confirm the suspension, saying that “no decision has been made.”
The 6-foot-8 Ariza is Houston’s second-leading scorer, averaging 17 points. He’s started the Rockets’ first 23 games and leads the team in minutes (38.7 per game).
He went 0-for-9 from the field and scored only one point before he was ejected in the third quarter for swinging his arm at DeRozan following a steal.
-
he could use the game off to get his head straight.
-
how are you going to tell me his intent? lol.
His "true thoughts/intent" doesn't matter. He did what he did and it was idiotic and he deserves a suspension. It's like trying to a guess a murderer's intent. Doesn't matter really. He did what he did and he needs to face some punishment. And no, I'm not comparing what Ariza did to a murder lol. It's just a good example surrounding intent.

i guess, but thrown elbows in the NBA happen in everygame, every night; this was just more noticable.

more noticeable, more dangerous, more malicious and more vicious.

but at least it was a complete miss opposed to all those shots that connect down in the crowded post.

he could use the game off to get his head straight.
its just frustration, im just kinda disappointed he didnt apologize.
dont get me wrong i loved it when the nba was more physical, but that other guy just stole the ball, aint he did a dirty play or was talking shit.

yeah, i guess an apology is in order.
but i think Ariza is telling himself, "damn, i wasn't even trying to hit anyone, i just was frustrated" & wondering if he really needs to give an apology lol.
-
put it this way. If things like this happened as often as your trying to make it seem, we'd see a lot more suspensions lol.
