PHILADELPHIA -- Roy Halladay could be getting close to joining the Phillies.
Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman reported that a three-way trade has been agreed to involving Philadelphia, the Blue Jays and the Mariners, though he did not specify which players are moving besides Halladay coming to the Phillies.
A source said Monday that Halladay is in Philadelphia, likely to take a physical and talk about a contract extension. The Phillies are trying to sign Halladay to an extension before they complete the trade for the former American League Cy Young Award winner. Halladay would waive his no-trade clause to pitch for the Phillies.
It is unclear who will be part of the deal, but there have been rumors that Cliff Lee could be involved. The Phillies could ship Lee to another team in return for prospects, which they possibly could spin to the Blue Jays to complete the deal.
if Halladay goes to the Phillies, i think you could give them the NL early; even if they lose Cliff Lee in the deal.
huge move, maybe lol.

Cliff Lee goes to the Mariners in the deal apparently.
hate to see the doc go but I want to see who we get outta this.

King Felix? :D
-
lol I'd doubt that.
it'll be sad to see Doc go, but hopefully he gets a World Series ring with some other team.
-
now that i think about it, how much better does this make the Phillies?
it's not like anybody beat Cliff Lee in the playoffs to begin with & it's not like they will both be in the same rotation.
Halladay will be lights out in the Playoffs too (maybe, we haven't seen him there).
it seems like Cliff & Doc cancel each other out.

yeah, the deal doesn't make as much sense when you remove Lee from their rotation. Doc is the truth though 8)
-
we lose cliff and get doc, eh, i mean i really liked what i saw from lee last season, but i know doc is dope as fuck, so its about the same shit, expept right hander
-
wtf? i dont get this at all. reports are saying that ja happ is part of the deal? why trade away an ace plus a very good young pitcher for an ace in return?

boston will lose alot of 2-1 games if they don't get Bay AND another big bat. they need 2 big bats to compete...unless PEdroia starts hitting for more power lol that ain't happenin'

the "whose going where" is set; in case any of you were still wondering who is involved with the trade.
PHILADELPHIA -- A series of four deals was completed on Wednesday, bringing ace Roy Halladay to the Phillies, with Philadelphia sending prospects Kyle Drabek, Michael Taylor and Travis d'Arnaud to the Blue Jays after trading Cliff Lee to the Mariners for three prospects, right-handers Phillippe Aumont and JC Ramirez and outfielder Tyson Gillies. Toronto flipped Taylor to Oakland for prospect Brett Wallace.
