It took me a while to get into Lil Wayne, i think to really comprehend how good his lyrics are u have to almost rewind and listen again. Sure he has a bit of weird voice and flow but i've grown to appreciate and love Weezy, I hated him at first thou

aw man now that's just wrong lolll !!!! Im gonna catch heat for this but, lil wayne is one talented dude. some may not like his post carter2 style but imo carter 3 was a grower, not a big fan of the autotune but still. his beat choice is on point and he has some clever wordplay, nothing fancy, some of it is just stupid but still, clever wordplay. Also, Kanye west is the shit, one of the few who dare to be different, and are good at it. let the hate begin :).

i was vibing to that whole Carter III album & i even can bump some tracks off Rebirth; he is more of an entertainer than rapper though.

I used to bump Wayne back when I was only in like 5th grade and bought both Tha Block Is Hot and Lights Out, way before he was ever popular like he is today, then years later once "Fireman" blew up I started to hate on Wayne, not gonna lie, and at first I didn't like Carter 2... but now I love that album and would ALMOST consider it a personal classic 8)

Wayne will have a phor or double entendre here and there, but thats it. And those 2 things should be used sporadically, to complement your rhymes. When you're beaten over the head by them, it gets very tedious and replay value is very low. Wayne is very guilty of that. It's simple formulaic garbage over and over. His flow is horrible. He's too leaned out to ride a beat. His voice is annoying.
The only good thing Wayne had going for him was Mannie Fresh.
