i would like it but i dont think its ideal but if theris a possiblity thats theirs traks with cube, jayo, spice and productio from pete rock, darren vegas etc on it then yes put it out.

Only if they revamped the whole album, made it a dual disc, threw in unleaked and unheard tracks, re-did the cover art, and actually got Kurupt's blessing and promoted the album properly as well as paying a professional mixer to do the album. The last album (Ultimate Death Row) wasn't bad at all when it came to mixing, but it still wasn't all that and a bag of chips. I would call up the people who were mixing Kurupt's stuff back then, and get them to mix it and yes, it can be remixed because we have DAT's not 1/2'' tapes. Lol. I still love that excuse for The Chronic Re-Lit. Maybe even throw in a DVD of Death Row footage from that era, since it would be a re-release and I would buy it.

I mean if it's an option between, do you want music or do you not want music? My answer is yes.
To be honest, I wouldn't totally mind the music being released considering the quality of the Against The Grain EP's track (if those were to be included), they were far from CDQ.

Who gives a shit about the cover, if it got Kurupt's blessing and about the promotion? Don't you just want to enjoy the unheard music?
All I want is new music and I don't give a shit about the rest. If songs suck I won't listen to them.
-
I want the unreleased Kurupt shit from 94-97 cause back then he was truly a beast on the mic and one of the best
An album of tracks that he recorded during his second stint at the row couldn't really interest me less

I do, and obviously it'd make a difference when you picked it up in stores. The original Kurupt Against The Grain cover was cropped out of a magazine photoshoot. LOL.

LOL...
Koch probably received the album and said, "Wait, it doesn't have a cover." Then someone else said, "Hold on, my son has Photoshop on the computers at school."

That's basically what happened, even though there was photos already in place for it as seen on Death Row's old websites.
-
The photo they used was taken after Kurupt and Daz re-united, if i remember right it was from The Source magazine.

Correct.
-
Yeah - they should release THE REAL OG VERSION of Against Tha Grain as a Disc 1 and then put out some dope unleaked stuff from the sessions on Disc 2. That would be great 8)
-
Who's callin' the shots at WideAwake now? Who decides what albums are goin' to be released?

Well, apparently, Hyland's been playing guessing games with the public and his friends. He tells everyone that he's lost his job at WIDEawake, but the people there I assume are still keeping him on. Hyland decides the tracklistings, and apparently it's stuff we've all heard just not in PURE CDQ. Lol. I'm not sure who's over JP now.
-
Yes, as long as more than half the album is unreleased
-
for some reason i tink kurupt might take action against wideawake on this album.
i mean if they did like disc1 against tha grain and disc 2 would be random unreleased songs then ok id be happy wit that
but they got tons of 90's stuff of his, they should put that out, i swear itl be a classic for sure
-
I'd want it. Against Tha Grain is a personal favorite of mine, the EP and tracks on Row Ryder weren't bad either. Although Kurupt might stop it if it includes any Daz, Snoop, Bad Azz or Soopafly disses.
Though an album full of Kurupt material during The Chronic and pre-Doggystyle recording sessions would be great, Kurupt's rawness and flow on Lyrical Gangbang, Stranded On Death Row and Gin & Juice freestyle is him at his best IMO.
-
Whats the tracklisting first?
-
I don't see how Kurupt could "stop it", he doesn't own the material.

can he not sue them though?

If it's good enough for me to buy it and available over here I will buy it.

Voted yes. But only because a project of Kurupt "Against the Grain" Era tracks with probably a few unreleased tracks is probably better than no project (although even that point it debatable). But I really wish they had waited for a while to release this project, in favor of releasing something totally new. After all, their rationale for waiting until June to release their 2pac project was that they felt the market had been over-saturated with 2pac material. If that was really their reasoning, I don't know how you reconcile that with the idea of dropping a Kurupt project that's probably going to be, at least partially, a re-release of an album he just dropped a few years ago.
-

That I know of? None.
I don't see how Kurupt could "stop it", he doesn't own the material.
I was just thinking that if the release includes any disses Kurupt made towards DPG (if any are left) then he wouldn't support it or encourage people not to buy it.
-
No, not if it is all ATG era tracks. I don't really care for kurupts music at that time. I haven't even peeped all the stuff that I downloaded, cause basically I don't care.
Put out the pre 96 era kurupt, that is what I want to hear!
-
yes if it includes Kurupt music with Crooked I or Kurupt music from 1992-1997
-
would they release the no vaseline part 2?
that diss is crazy

u guys still plannin on buying this?
lol. Yeah. Can we retake this poll? I only gave a conditional yes, anyway. But after seeing this p.o.s., I don't think it's even worth it. I don't even know why they changed the name to "Down and Dirty." Nearly every track on it is from "Against the Grain."
