Blazers C Przybilla out for season after surgery (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AqWU_hGcw2dLqxTRd83ky7K8vLYF?slug=ap-trailblazers-przybilla&prov=ap&type=lgns)

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP)—Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla(notes) had surgery Thursday to repair his ruptured right patella tendon.

Przybilla is expected to miss the rest of the season after hurting his leg during Portland’s 85-81 victory at Dallas on Tuesday night. He went up for a rebound and came down awkwardly with 3:12 left in the first quarter.

Przybilla averaged 4.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 30 games.

The Blazers have been beset by so many injuries this season that the NBA granted the team an exemption to carry 16 players on its roster.

Portland also is without center Greg Oden(notes) (left knee), forwards Nicolas Batum(notes) (shoulder), Travis Outlaw(notes) (left foot) and Rudy Fernandez(notes) (back), and rookies Patrick Mills(notes) (right foot) and Jeff Pendergraph(notes) (hip).

Two-time All-Star Brandon Roy(notes) has a strained left shoulder and is questionable for Portland’s Christmas night game against the Denver Nuggets.

This really sucks balls for the Blazers; they've been hit horrendously by the injury-bug.

this is a team built for down the road, they weren't winning this year anyway; but it's a shame for the fans.

^ You can't really judge them like that man, their season has been pretty fucked over by injuries. Hell, even their coach got injured trying to show the team some offense lol

well they were a playoff team & still might be, but they weren't beating the Lakers or Spurs.

^ Well that's a given, LA's roster is stacked- Kobe/Bynum/Odom/Gasol/Artest, etc, shit's not even fair.

probably better than the 3-peat team lol.

but down the road, four-five years; this team will make some noise.

unless the injury woes continue.
