Title: Chris Johnson Gets his 2,000 yards!
Post by: Lunatic on January 03, 2010, 04:23:11 PM
-All time Titans/Oilers leader in rush yards for a single season (passing the great Earl Campbell)
-All time NFL leader for scrimmage yards in a single season (Marshall Faulk held the record with 2,429 set in 1999)
-First NFL player EVER to rush for 2,000 yards and catch for 500 in a single season
-6th NFL RB to rush for 2,000 yards
-He finishes the year at 5th all time 2,006 yards.

bonus:
Tennessee Titans become first team ever to finish .500 after an 0-6 start

You have to appreciate the season CJ had. Greatness at it's finest!

Faulk had a way better pass offense to take the heat off him you cant compare.People go in knowing chris johnson is the titans only weapon and they still cant stop him

Many ppl say Faulk was the brains behind that whole team and one of the smartest players to play the game. Faulk is what made that team a great passing team too.

they did have Holt & Bruce; two of the best WR's at the time.

but no doubt Faulk helped that passing game.

I still don't see him getting MVP. But other than him or Manning they might give it to Rivers just to avoid a Manning repeat.

I wouldnt exactly call young a big weapon.Hes better then he was but he stil isnt great and hes got no good receivers really.

Britt is going to be a great WR and Washington ain't half bad either.

mark my words; the offense won't be touched in the off season. Young, Johnson, Hall, Britt, Gage Washington all remain. The O Line will remain in tact (minus maybe 1 change) and the TE position will either be Scaife again or Cook takes over as the starter.

The defense will receive an over haul.

Shallow: This isn't even about MVP. It's a celebration thread for what an amazing year CJ had.

MVP would make the celebration bigger though.

manning wins mvp

his team actually did something this year

The fact that manning comes out of the last two games and they lose both just cemented manning as the mvp.

Not only that but the offense falls apart completely with out him. In his last real drive he figured out a plan to really move the ball and once he left they didn't move more than 50 yards for almost a full 3 quarters, (the very last 3 and out was only to get Clark his 100th catch). In the second half after the snow plow Peyton would have come alive. 16-0 flushed down the toilet. Poor bastards.

I still believe they made the right choice.Look what happened to welker today.Without welker the pariots are done, hes the key to their offense.

If I was a Jets fan I'd say they made the right choice too.

I guess I just don't believe that if the Jets were 14-0 and rested their main players with a 5 point lead and went 14-2 instead of 16-0, you'd be on board. I believe in less that you'd be calling for resting the starters while they were playing.
