In the entire history of movies, what film do you all think has the highest number of powerful scenes?
For me I would definitely have to say "American History X." It is just astonishing to me how many powerful scenes are in this film, absolutely riveting from beginning to end.

AHX is one of my favorites...and it was filmed at my old high school.
i just got done watching The Messenger and this movie has some strong scenes in it from beginning to end.

i really like the 3 monologues in good will hunting (1 by williams, 1 by damond, and 1 by affleck)

on the topic of monologues, Ed Nortons in 25th Hour is unfuckwittable

Fight club

It's very hard to pic just one movie. Heat has many many powerful scenes. Scarface has many powerful scenes. The same can be said for No Country For Old Men, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Goodfellas and of course The Shawshank Redemption. But if I had to picc the most powerful scene I'd picc the scene in The Deer Hunter where De Niro and Chris Walken are in that prison camp and are forced to play russian roulette for they captors who are like placin bets on they heads and laughin and shit. You just can't top this shit. I saw it as a lil kid and the shit is just burned into my brain.

the most powerful scene in that movie, is when they are at the bar after the wedding, they do the 'cant take my eyes off you' then the fat guy plays this classical song on the piano and everything (& everyone) just stops and then it jumps to the war, amazing

Its quite clear to me that the answer to this thread is Harold & Kumar Get The Munchies.
-
Morgan Freeman's scenes in Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty. The shit said is crazy. That hada have the most, to me, imo.
Now, not tryin' to JOCK Christianity here at all, TRUST, but if Jesus being beaten isn't the most powerful scene in a movie, EVER, niggas is buggin', that was A powerful fuckin' movie. Real talk. I don't watch many movies, so that may have to take the cake.
But that scene in Titanic when the old couple holdin' hands get's wiped out by the water toward the end. :(
Dangerous Minds and Lean On Me, had a powerful message, at least, wit some good scenes.
I seened parts of American History X, but that shit looks madd crazy to watch.
-
another good one, i'd say is "Saving Private Ryan" that had some deep scenes init.. i still rate the storming of normandy beach as the illest opening scene to any movie!!
-
