700 songs :o
-
lol, so all the rumors about him gettin dropped from the math were true, and he was hiding it all this time, lol.
-
yeah i was listenin to this today
he sounded cool...didnt talk bad bout dre but he was sayin that its the labels fault...surprise
and he made grow up..they did nuthin for him
he made the xzibit joint and they still did nuthin
he made the everyday in the streets and they did nuthin (video etc...)
but damn anywhere else will be the same...lol
oh and the single or song they played produced by j dilla.....DAMN THAT SHIT WAS BANGIN
let the hate begin tho...this was many FANS dream come true so best belee tha hatin is on its way...hopefully bishop can take the heat
-
glad to hear that its official now.. he wasnt goin anywhere anyway...
-
doesn't sound like dre has much/any say over what actually comes out through the label. glad bishop is officially gone and has realised his album was not coming out. but it aint a good look for him with all the excuses and bigging up of detox etc.
and its great that he got to leave with all those songs....i hope he was allowed to keep some dre produced stuff. still, the stuff he was recording early on with scott storch etc was easily some of the dopest shit.
-
As a fan Im actually glad hes off the label, now he can release an album.
-
Glad this finally happened as he was just wasting his time waiting to come out and i want to believe he really got to take 700 odd masters but for some reason i just don't believe it :-\
-
lol back to bussing tables at chili's nigga!! haha nigga was corny and lost my respect when he tried to get gangster on everybody... fuck em.
8)
-
when did he try and get gangsta? lol
lol back to bussing tables at chili's nigga!! haha nigga was corny and lost my respect when he tried to get gangster on everybody... fuck em.

-
Great news!!
Dre's wasting everybody's time
Bishop should go back and work with J-Wells !!!
-
I had a feelin this was true.....oh well. He'll find some where to drop an album.
-
Damn, aftermath is dropping tha ball. WTF?! Just when I thought things were finally coming back 2 light over there. DAMN! SMH...
-
Shocker. This has definitely been complete for quite some time.
It's good to hear he got to leave with songs but rarely does that turn into anything productive. Stat Quo said the same thing and we ain't heard nothing.
-
Stat Quo said the same thing and we ain't heard nothing.
Actually.. he has been quite consistent with releasing work since he got off tha Math.
at one point last year he was droppin a full project a month.. and some of it had Dre music on it.

I was talking Aftermath related content. It was cool to see him so active last year (and the projects were all dope as fuck don't get me wrong)..but I'm strictly talking "I left the label with my songs" ... stat was 'pose to have Eminem, Scarface, etc. all on his album and we ain't heard none of these songs. Was Dre featured on any of Stat's tapes last year? I don't recall that unless they changed the name of the producer. I remember one Focus produced song and that is all (Aftermath related).
-
A lot of Dre material was featured.. don't know if I remember Em on anything..
-
I've been telling people that Bishop wanted off the label for a long time now... I'm happy he's finally off though.
-
A lot of Dre material was featured.. don't know if I remember Em on anything..
Nah. Em definitely wasn't. I'd like people to confirm. I don't remember Dre on any of those last year mixtapes.
-
hope he doesn't waste dope tracks by just leaking them. I wanna see Reformation coming out!
-

nor do i. there was certainly a few things from focus. what were the dre tracks?
-
LOL wow fail.
I mean seriously lmao I remember when they had that shit saying "2009 is the year of The Aftermath" and had all the albums planned (Relapse, BISD, Detox, The Reformation) lmao
Figures Dre would release a crappy Em album and not even give bishop a chance 2 drop. Oh well, maybe now we'll get a album. Either way we still got some dope mixtapes. lol
-
It's crazy that anyone would want to sign to Aftermath.
What succes stories do they have besides Eminem, 50, and a joint Game album.
It's so sad, that he's been wasting his best rap years on the shelves.
If the 700 tracks are true, I'd reckon you see him flooding the streets with them, to turn up the buzz, I'd do that if I had the chance
-
yes, congrats to bishop 8) :raisetheroof:

i'm looking forward to his next moves :)

yeah Dre is just a CEO.
but i think he does have a hand in the fact that some artists didn't come out on Aftermath.
he lost interest in Bishop's project & moved on to the next victim ( slim the mobster)
-

I'd have to ask him for titles cause I don't know them on-hand.. but essentially he got into a "IDGAF" mode and started leaking his A-work he did while on Aftermath. While the MD at SWURV I was treated to nearly a song a week it seemed. He released more than just those tapes with the old-school covers, not sure if you are aware.. As far as the Em, Scarface and other features, you are referring to "Statlanta" and the last word I got on that was that it got derailed for a second due to his leaking run. Folx were unhappy about his actions.. He has since reunited with Dre and has wrote for Detox.. and He claims to be finish with Statlanta and plans on releasing it this year.. Hopefully so.
-
It's crazy that anyone would want to sign to Aftermath.
Lots of publicity? :P
It's so sad, that he's been wasting his best rap years on the shelves.
Recorded and released 1 album with Black Milk (http://www.amazon.com/Caltroit-Black-Milk/dp/B00102FESU/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1263034638&sr=1-5) and 3 street albums, probably funded by Aftermath to create buzz, that he now can tour off. ;D

-
damn that´s fucked up since 05 he signed the deal and no album fuck, but i doubt that he can move with these 700 records and you think that he can move with the dre beats?
-
Finally this soap opera is over - now he can get his shit together and release an album that was supposed to drop in 2005..
-
He actually did pretty well on the math (still a fail though). He actually got music out via the mixtapes. Could of been worse, could of been another Hittman situation.
-
Nothing surprising here. The funny thing is that he got dropped in an era where being conscious is in and rapping about how gangsta you are is out. I think that with a proper push he would do well in todays climate. And we know that the material would probably be correct; leaked Reformation tracks have all been great, he seems to have chemistry with Dre (Grow Up and Hallelujah)..... But I doubt he'll release anything Aftermath related, they all say that and nothing ever happens. We'll probably hear a mixtape or two from him in the future and then he'll slowly disappear.
-
glad to see him off the label. Aftermath's a good move for promotion, but in the long run...
the way i see it, rappers should jump on the label for some quik buzz, n then try findin a way to get outta there - so they later on can get picked up by a label dat actually puts out the actual album?
-
Guess that's why Chocolate laughed.
Not surprised but still disappointed.
Glad to have the official word.
Can someone up that dilla track so I can listen?

i can't predict the future, but Bishop Lamont doesn't seem like the type that would disappear
-
dont think that dilla song has leaked...but damn it was dope
and real talk dre day
-
He's still working with them... but all the red tape and legalities are finally gone. They're free to work together and come out the way they want to... ala Xzibit, feel me? 8)

does anyone have a better quality of that song....or even better, just the instrumental?
-
^^ It's from the Confessional.
Also, Bishop will be talking more detail with WhoKid on Shade 45 today. Anybody listening in?
-
Guess this is for the best although I'd rather his influence on Detox than some ganagster rapper stuff. Im skeptical about whether he'll be able to release the Aftermath version of The Reformation. But he's a talented guy so i'll stay checking for him like Joell ortiz and stat quo (who both said they had dre beats to release and haven't done so)...
-

i know its from the confessional homie, i prolly got more Bishop tracks than you have lmao ;D...this song was just badly mastered on the mixtape...and the instrumental isnt floating around...
-
I didn't hear the Dilla track yet... do you have that? :)
-
I think we all knew this was goin' to happen. I hope he can release the material he recorded while he was on Aftermath.
-
all i can say fuck Aftermath fuck Jimmy Lovine and fuck Interscope

-
Slim is a gangsta rapper. That' their niche. If they can't market him they don't deserve to be called a business
-
new bishop - yank
http://www.radioplanet.tv/bishop-lamont-yank/
-
What i dont understand is why cant Dre do anything about it?? I mean its his fucken label!!! How come it seems as if he does not have power over anything! I never understood that part of the business! Why cant Dre just say fuck everyone and we can do it! I dont understand! ???
-
Shocker. This has definitely been complete for quite some time.

Besides "Yank", did he drop any other exclusives? Can you give us some more detail on this interview? I'd love to hear it, anyone know where we can possibly get a listen of the interview or an archive of whoo kid's shows?
-

Damn what sorta ish did he play?
Saw this coming a mile away, hopefully we get to hear the usic soon, maybe he'll get picked up by Sha Money's label just like Stat Quo...
And I don't recall any Stat Quo tracks leaking produced by Dre after he got dropped, unless he just pretended they were all focus beats?
-
I gaurantee stat was frustrated at first and was going to leak the songs but backtracked to maintain a friendship with dre.If he leaked those songs he wouldnt be working with dre again and he wouldnt have his current deal.Dre and jimy would have blackballed him.
-
All the shit talk this nigga used to do..... ;D....it's all good tho what he eats doesn't make me shit....but the reality is No one knows this dude outside of dubcnn.....LOL

Hopefully now he will be able to put out a retail album.

^^ Dre sold Aftermath some years ago...
Why? Did he really need the money. Who had to pay that Truth Hurts lawsuit? Wasn't it 500 million dollars?

I've been telling you niggas Bishop's bitch ass BEEN kicked off aftermath, it actually happened a long time ago
-

so yeah, another great trick (http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=241420.msg2435978#msg2435978)....

-
Shit happens. It was pretty obvious when Bishop stopped making public appearances promoting Detox his label situation was iffy. To his credit he stopped talking about it. To take away from him he did rep it quite a bit before hand. You never know what is said behind doors. They could've told him we're getting ready to release it - hint hint promote that shit. Either way I'll be bumping Bishop Lamont, Stat Quo, Dr.Dre, The Game, Bobby Creekwater, Cashsis, Slim Da Mobsta, 50, Lloyd Banks, & Eminem for their music, not the label they're signed to.
-
real talk otherwise you gon boycott
rbx

he's happy with interscope

compared to his past label situations I would be too...shit compared to most people .... shit he's got it made
he gets to do his passion most of the day, work with great musicians and artists, and make a lot of dough (not nearly as much he COULD be but he still makes a lot). ain't that the key of life, find what you love and do it.

Anyone record his interview the other night where he played a bunch of songs?
-
i didn't listen to the interview yet, but this can only mean good things:
1. no more BL songs with garbage Dre beats
2. possibly new material with J. Wells
3. an actual motivated/hungry BL like before he signed to Aftermath
if none of this comes true, at least i got more reason to bitch on BL
Anyone record his interview the other night where he played a bunch of songs?
you mean on bbc radio? i got that shit somewhere.

All this is very nice and what not, but I just hope someone leaks that track he did with Dj Khalil and Kobe called ''If you don't know the code ''. Joint sounded crazy, peep the link :

i hate it. that noise sounds like some plastic baby toys being chewed on ...that second verse couldve been a hot though that flow is good ''sittin on chrome, sitting on chrome''....

they played mad new joints
the joint produced by j dilla...first one they played sounds mad dope
he made one while he was drunk and it sounds aite but song that stood out was the first j dilla one

Im glad he's off the 'math, it was meaningless to be on a label of that caliber and not putting out any music, not to mention the lack of support from the label. Now go do your thing Bishop. Now that you are free, FLY and be on your way to do bigger things. Im feeling the yank cut. Fuck the haters!
