Arizona is definitely west. I don't know why people get so damn technical with the whole coast shit. I'm in Vegas and we fo damn sure is west and AZ borders us and we border Cali. I can be in Cali in 30 minutes from here so we west just as much as Cali is.

i like how all the people claiming arizona is west coast arent even from california hahaha. honestly arizona is pretty dope state, i know a couple people out there and ive been a few times but its not west coast, and i dont even mean just geographically its a different vibe there

cool im a check out judge. but what award can he possibly win? With willy np, hot rod, juice, etc i highly doubt he is gonna win male solo artist award. but i do like to hear new talent all the time

Shit I am in Cali right now as I type this. California is not the only west coast state. Just like New York is not the only east coast state as far as hip hop. Yeah the vibe is different but that is what makes the west poppin is different styles from different places. If the music sounded like Calis peeps would say it is biting though.

In the middle of what though? Again if we goin by geographics that is one thing but style wise there are a lot of AZ, NV and others that are west coast. I have had people tell me oregon and washington artists are not west. Really? And what are we basing west coast on? What we only hear from Cali? I just think that the west has more to offer then just Cali IMO.

but why cant we have sub sections
oregon/wa = northwest
cali = westcoast
az = southwest

That's cool but musically for example if Willy NP sold a million records, people would have no problem claiming him and Arizona as west. But it almost seems like with some that because he did not do well, lets put him in a different subregion. I personally approach it as west, NW, SW whatever it is part of the west coast to me.

some agree some dont either way there is a blossoming scene in az where alot of them are getting signed still. there are some super west coast sounding artists coming out az such as dem rascalz, siccoduce records, dboy, juice, and quite a few more. there is also more. some people like juice concider az west coast but some one like willy np calls it the southwest. geographically rap wise id say southwest. i also heard oregon and washington called the nw
