Title: Havoc on his sinister shit was an untouchable producer
Post by: eazye on January 16, 2010, 01:25:58 AM
And I'm not going to post up lots of examples, just a joint that probably went under the radar for some

http://www.youtube.com/watch/v/7ibaZ1xaad0

This beat (a rather unmixed, unfinished version of it) might be recognized by some from some of the Mobb Deep demos

Back on topic, I LOVE his haunting productions like this one with a slight cinematic feel to them.amazing shit

Havoc is a definite great in the producing game. We could list the great songs he's done one by one and be here for weeks.

Its a shame Mobb Deep signed to G-Unit and ruined their career. Not been the smae since really.

Great beat. Nice verses from the Mobb. But again, like Tommy's Theme with the Lox, the track has been severely let down by them wack arse muthafuckas Made Men.

Havoc is probably in my top 10 producers of all time. Very rarely lets me down.

^^yup, only one of them can be listenable at times.

I've really slept on Hav's production post '99 minus a few joints here and there, I should peep game

And what 50 joint are you talking about?Did he leak They Burn Me?

One of the best producers to ever do it  ;) While he may have a misstep here & there, his catalog more than makes up for it.

One of the best East Coast producers, no doubt about it. I was just listenin' to "Shoot 'Em Up" (Nas), that's one of my favorite beat from Havoc.

HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY THEY HATE MOBB DEEP NOW THAT THEY ON G-UNIT. PEOPLE CHANGE AS PEOPLE, SO THEY ARE GOING TO CHANGE AS ARTISTS ALSO. FURTHER MORE, PEOPLE AREN'T RETARDED, AND THERES A LITTLE THING CALLED MARKETING. AND THAT USUALLY DOESNT MEAN THEY ARE GONNA TRY TO CATER TO 1 SMALL GROUP ON THE INTERNET THAT IS BITTER BECAUSE THERE MUSIC DOESNT SOUND EXACTLY LIKE IT DID 10 YEARS AGO.

"Blood Money" had a lot of good tracks, it gets too much hate here.

what a load of rubbish. No-one is asking them to cater to a certain group of people, my issue when they went to G-Unit is simply that I thought the album they released on that label was the worst of their career.

I couldn't give a f**k whether an artist has to change their sound due to 'marketing' or to be more successful, all I care about is the music and Mobb weren't up to scratch for me on that album. nothing more nothing less.

Hmm we'll have to disagree there then mate cos I also have Amerikaz Nightmare and I thought Blood Money's G-Unit influence made it a lot more accessible to the commercial market.

But I will concede Amerikaz Nightmare was a massive change in sound compared to the album before that, Infamy, which was dark and morbid and in my opinion, very solid.  8)
