Wu Tang A&R and Executive Producer of Canibus’s Melatonin Magik, M80, took a time out between knocking back shots to have Kurupt announce the reformation of The 4 Horsemen, a group consisting of himself, Killah Priest, Ras Kass and Canibus.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy they’re reuniting and hopefully going to drop an album, but does anyone else feel like this is only happening because Slaughterhouse has proved the formula is successful in today’s Hip-Hop world?

Good news, i hope they release an album this time.
but does anyone else feel like this is only happening because Slaughterhouse has proved the formula is successful in today’s Hip-Hop world?
Didn't their album flop? They successful in the "internet world" though :D ;)

44,000 units moved as far as I know, pretty good for an independent album. Plus two videos that received rotation on MTV.
Nationwide and European tour. I wouldn't call that a flop.
-
44,000 is actually pretty decent numbers in this climate of illegal downloads. Slaughterhouse did pretty well, and profit aside, it definitely raised the profile of all the individual emcees in the group.
I always thought the 4 Horsemen collabo was a strange mix of emcees. Killah Priest and Canibus and then Kurupt and Ras Kass are like chalk and cheese. If they get it together an album could be fire though.
-
you guys are kidding yourselves, 44,000 is terrible for the amount of buildup and promo these guys did before the album dropped
4 horsemen wont even sell 20,000
-
i can sell mo than dat outta my trunk
good to hear they r reuniting tho..... kurupt need to drop a solo tho
-
Thats some really good fucking news! would've been better if they had've dropped back in the day, most probably, but still, great news.

this is good news, can't wait for them to flood the streets wit top notch product, they all have bars, they can spray, i just hope they get wit producers like premo, 9th wonder, alchemist, that type of sound you know, that basement gutta shit, you get me, ha ha, hearing them bully the mic over those type of soundscapes would drop, yes it would

kurupt solo would be better
-
If this is legit then its the best news ive heard in 2010 thus far.
-
I wonder if they'll diss Slaughterhouse to get attention since Royce dissed Canibus after Canibus dissed Eminem. I'd prefer a collaboration though
-
good news as usual but is this legit? where was this announced? im sorry but we are let down when it comes to future projects like this so il wait to see if its really real

yeah it seems like since slaughterhouse got together now the og groupis tryna get back together for a real release
they prolly feel or think they are better than slaughterhouse
-

Yepp. Up until then none of these supposed super groups have ever actually released an album.
-
if they dont want to make an ass out of themselves they should replace Kurupt
he's the weak one out of the four

Kurupt at his best is better than the rest of them imo

Yeah, that is true but Kurupt been hit/miss in the last few years. He fell off but hopefully he can come with some tight lyrical shit when him and Terrace Martin release that "Street Lights" album. Most of the leaks from the album have been good but they are all leftovers from the album, right?
-
he's the weak one out of the four
yup, dat is very tru - kurupt aint got shit against them lyricaly. but at HIS BEST, at least he slays all of them in performance
-
Good news but im not expecting to see an album, the best we can prob hope for is a few tracks similar to the riflemen.
-
I am probably in the minority, but I'd rather hear a Kurupt solo than this...

Why cant we have both? this come out and street lights

yep. Totally agree. The others might have him beat on the lyrics but I know out of the four if they all brought out a solo CD on the same day I'd spent the money on Kurupt's first.

at his best yeah...but now ur talking about 15 years ago?
-
this is great news! Ras, Priest and Can-I-Bus are some of the greatest but saying that Kurupt isn't in that group is crazy to me. Kurupt absolutely destroys tracks with crazy lyrics.
-
for real we talkin about now
ras kass could and should make kurupt run for his money for miles....lol
let alone killah priest and canibus

Id take rass kass over the others.Kurupt has never rose above gangster shit,he enver actually raps about anything worthwhile.Rassy has made some deep shit over the years.Kurupt could never make an album like soul on ice,one of the deepest, most lyrical albums to ever come out.

Amazing track.
http://www.youtube.com/v/JY3YLTkoEdc&hl=en_US&fs=1&
A more recent track.
Both these tracks alone are deeper then kurupts whole career.
-
damn jay that second ras song is mad dope
ras still got it

Kurupt sounded dope as fuck on the old horsemen songs.
Every so often Kurupt still proves he's got it, as much as i love his shit i must admit up against raskass he's gonna get out shined. I agree with other comments about dides liek canibus got the lyrics but i prefer Kurupts flow.
Killa preist is possibly the weak link, and thats nothing against him, but he dont rhyme as quikc as teh other three, his flow is more plain, but his lyrics are certeranly differant.
No way you can replace kurupt. Maybe get a feature from teh likes or Crooked-i or Chino xl though^^
