Post by: David Mack on January 23, 2010, 12:18:02 PM
What cha y'all think? Ima go wit Pac. Nearly 3 classic cds (MATHW, AEOM, 7 day theory), bigger impact on hip hop and society in General. While Snoop started of wit a bang but has fallen off in da last decade or so.

2pac is a legend, snoop is a sellout. Seriously, 2pac has put out more dope records since he's been dead than snoop has during that same time.

Even though I'd go with Pac, people act like all Snoop has done was Doggystyle. >:(   Does anyone remember the huge contribution he made to another universal classic?  It was called.....the Chronic

These two are closer than you think, its just that we got to see Snoop fall off, whereas Pac died young.

Pac drastically improved w/ every album.  Snoop was horrible w/o DOC writing his rhymes and dre doing his beats.  no comparison.

agreed....and that's not even counting the bootlegged CLASSICS we have on our hands that weren't released

@ Teecee.....i'll take All Eyez On Me, Makaveli, Me AGainst THe World, Thug Life and 2pacalypse Now over Chronic/Doggystyle/MWTC

you'll never see 2pac working with ICP by the way....no disrespect to icp

Musically and culturally Pac of course... but you have to give Snoop props.  He is one of the few hip-hop artists who have remained relevant and still sold albums throughout the years and is still the face of the West Coast.  While Pac did have an acting career, I can appreciate Snoop's crossover into mainstream media, like his show, appearing on a lot of talk shows (David Letterman, Chelsea Lately, etc.), coaching youth athletic leagues, hanging out with the USC football team, etc.

I think people are quick to forget about Tha Eastsidaz and the multiple dope featuring he has done. The point is that if Snoop had lived as long as 2Pac he would be considered at least as much or more a legend than 2Pac.

Yeah, people always forget about "The Chronic", Snoop was on 8 tracks, that's half of the album and another album that people always forget about is the first Eastsidaz album. I considered it to be one of the best West Coast releases ever. A classic you can listen to from the start to the end, don't have to skip any tracks.

I'm asking myself the question, if 2Pac ever would have jumped on that bling bling wagon etc.

Hard to say if Pac would've ever gone like snoop but i mean Pac did do alot of songs with lame r&b like "how do you want it" an snoop hadnt really gone that r&b at that stage(ok so "whats my name" had singing on the hook and "charlie wilson" on snoops upside your head"
Hard to say, Pac was an expert at doing hard and soft songs and making it work, most rappers struggle with that, Snoops made lots of both soft an hard songs also, he just leant towards soft a little too much but as ppl said Snoops getting old, Pac was still a young man.
 I didnt vote anyways..

no he wouldn't have

at that point of his life snoop didn't have the backround, acting ability  or social networking skills that Pac had
