No doubt... I was loving this song. This was back in those days when you would buy any album that had an appearance from the Dogg Pound (Daz) or affiliates (Soopafly). I picked up the Nothing To Lose soundtrack without even hearing the song, just because their name was on the album. Bumped the hell out of that track back in 97', at the time I really thought Soopafly was the next big artist to blow up and I thought he'd have an album on Death Row.
I also liked the Coolio/40 Theivz track on the album, and even the No Limit song on there was dope.

Word, I did the exact same shit, lol
That No Limit song was dope, and also the one on Rhyme & Reason soundtrack was dope too (I also bought that because of the Dogg Pound track).
When it was first announced that Snoop was moving to No Limit I thought it would be amazing because I only heard those 2 No Limit tracks... sadly Tha Game.. was his worst album!

classic heat, back then death row was still on top...untouchable

Yep, that's the exact same thing that happened to me. In fact, the first No Limit song I ever heard was off the Rhyme and Reason soundtrack; and I bought the Rhyme and Reason soundtrack because the Dogg Pound made an appearance on there (another classic Dogg Pound track when they were still on top).
Back to the No Limit song that was on Rhyme and Reason, this was in Dec. 96' and like I said it was the first No Limit song I'd ever listen to. It was "Is There A Heaven For A Gangsta" and I was really impressed with his style on the track, and the "UHHHHHH" catchphrase was cool back then the first time I heard it, only later it would become a played out gimmick. Back then it was way raw and you could feel it.
When I first heard Snoop was signing to No Limit I was thinking this was HUGE and that the album would sell like 10 Million or something. LOL.. it did sell 2 million but that was pretty much on name recognition alone, Snoop/No Limit.. the album was mostly trash although I did bump the first single alot "Still A G Thang" (was produced by Meach Wells so it was one of the only tracks on the album with a West Coast sound)

like that track and beat too
DPG!

Yeah.. I bought that Soundtrack right when it came out and "Just Doggin" is and was yet another classic Dogg Pound track, they were on fire back then and couldn't miss. That track was released right at the time news was breaking Dre might be leaving Death Row, and I was just a kid, so I actually thought that when Nate Dogg sang, "Once new a nigga named Dr. Dre...Now they fuckin up the whole rap industry" that that was a Dre diss (sayi8ng that he was fuckin up the game by leavin Death Row). Back in the day I didn't think about the fact that those songs were recorded months to years in advance and Nate was actually givin props to Dre. I was quick to think I had discovered a timely diss, and reported it to my friends around the way.
But I have to admit, even without that track I still would of bought that album, because that MC Lyte/Escape joint "Keep On Keepin On" produced by Jermaine Dupri was burning up YOMTVraps at the time, and I still love that track to this day.
We need a YOMTVRaps appreciation thread by the way. Back in 95 and 96 that was the greatest show I've ever watched on television.
