Musically is top notch,my favorite of his entire discography. And the lyrics are on point too.
I compare the Trouble beat to the best ones produced by Dre,without a fuckin doubt.

best one is Rhythmalism in my opinion. damn it's been almost 13 years since this album came out and i still bump it very often. timeless music.
Under The Influance is one of my fav tho. dunno why people here used to hate on it as well as on Trauma. Both albums are very good

Trauma can't fuck with Under The Influence, musically UTI is on another level.
To me this is even better than Rhythmalism!
-
I don't know about the best but it was Quik doing something different and it stayed in my rotation for awhile. Same with Trauma. Man, I want another DJ Quik solo album already! The guy never dissapoints as far as I'm concerned.
-
I gotta admit that this album is the one I did bump the less from Quik discography but yeah musically this album is something like every Quik cds tho
But I dont think its his best work, its actually a well-produced and well-performed record but imo Rhytm-Al-Ism and Safe+Sound are his best works
-
i can hear some "dre influences" in some beats of this record....

Quik jokingly said that Dre ghost-produced that one record with Pharoah Monch on it because he had him listen to it and he gave him all sorts of advice.
-
Personally i didnt really like "under tha influence" i was actually really dissapointed with it and didnt really get into it that much.
Admittedly i slept on Quiks earlyer stuff but i really loved "rhythmalisim", "ballance & options" & "trauma" and think the yare all better than "under tha influence".

UTI was a great album. I didn't get into Trauma that much, songs were all over the place.
-
Under the influence is my personal favorite.
Trauma is great as well
-
This Thread is a joke , theres no way in hell that album is dj quiks best bro . ::)
-
Not my favourite Quik album, but there are some cuts on it that get overlooked (probably because there were only 200k copies shipped or something).
Get Tha Money sounds like some live band shit. 8)

very dope album and my favorite from of his
many wont say it is his best but IMO it is as far as the sound goes and his flow was somethin else
that album was some dretox shhhhh
not bangin all the thru but id take this album over all his albums
-
while i don't think its as good as rhythamalism, let me tell you something...
UTI is definitely underrated. it is far from quik's worst or even weaker albums. btw the album itself is rare as hell these days, completely out of print. was on that shitty bungalo label.

co-sign
But that's it with Quik, his versatality appeals to different tastes.UTI being his best album is just as unpopular as an aponion as me saying I prefer Balance and Options and Trauma to Rhythalism and Safe+Sound (which I do)
-
dope album but it ain't fuckin' with Rhythm-al-ism or Safe + Sound
-
This is my LEAST favourite quik album. Safe and sound + Rhythalimsm>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
-
once again elano is retarded

once again elano is retarded
once again you are on my nuts fucktard son of a bitch
-
I'll take 'Quik is my name'. But, I respect yr opinion
-
Rhythm-al-sm and Balance and Options are top notch quik albums to me
-
UTI is a crazy album. Love the vibe of the album and when it came out it was really different from Quik's previous releases. Damn, Quik had LYRICS on this one too. Also, UTI had the best Quik's Groove and a Dr. Dre feature! I can still bump this album front to back without skipping. Funky shit right here.
-
UTI doesn't even touch the greatness of Rhythm-al-ism.

100% agree. The versues, beats, guests on Rhythm-al-ism are far superior to UTI. Personally, I don't think "Trouble" is even that good compared to "No Doubt" or "Down, Down Down". AMG really started to suck after 2000. Also "Put it on me" sucks. The beat is amazing, Quik's verses are amazing, but Dre's verses are extremely bad.
-
LOL...ok buddy....
UTI was my first disapointment from quik..
-
"Whatever U Do" off of Rhythamalism shits on anything on under the influence, its a musical masterpiece from 4:00 onwards
-
"Under tha Influence" is the best Dj Quik album ?
get the fuck outta here
-
SAFE + SOUND
-
Bull-fucking-shit, Under The Influence was NOT Quik's BEST album. Great album but NOT the BEST. SAFE + SOUND will always be the BEST Quik album. Hands down.
