Title: Ant Banks- Big Thangs (1997) Appreciation Thread
Post by: Muhfukka on February 05, 2010, 02:25:25 PM
classic album, banks doesnt rap on it but he did his thing with the beats. to me every song is classic besides "you want me back", which isnt really bad for what it is but i dont think it really fits

just downloaded this a few days ago, it was a 320 kbps version, but most of the tracks sound not so good (quality wise), might have to do my thing to some of em so i can put em on my ipod, BUT YEAH, this album litterly has everyone on it, (cube, face, pac, dre) definately a hot ass album  8)

This is a pretty good album - well, a compilation, essentially - but every time it gets discussed here the same thing comes up - the sound quality. I have an OG CD copy and it's fucking awful. You have to jack the volume right up, and even then it's lacking. It's a shame, because the whole point of Ant Banks' production is that thick bass. You wouldn't know that from listening to a lot of this album.

sad but true.I hope Crip touches it up a little bit, I'm sure he'll be able to improve the sound quality

I like the fact that almost every track is duets or groups of artists together.

It's simple ain't it?
Big Thangs was about LA teaming up with the Bay...
I figure the sequel will be something similar, don't you?
....+ Ren and Banks have worked on several projects together in the past,so....  ;)
