I am a snoop dogg fan but ever since All Stars album and Paid the cost to be the boss, i am not sure really want to know if i want to listen to him anymore
the last shit i felt was off the wash soundtrack with dr dre
now he is trying some new sound or something? seems not to be working :(
he should go back with dre
-
I agree.
-
Snoop used to be one of my fav. artists but he's keeps on moving down the list. This could be the first Snoop album I don't buy.
-
U guys r the only one's that makes bad reviews about da album...which i couldnt care less cuz u guys r always the same one downin snoopy

Since I posted above you I'll assume that I'm one of "U guys".
Sorry, if I can admit that one of my fav. rapper is getting sloppy. I mean the guy had a fucking skit before his intro. WTF is he thinking? I guess I just hold my artists to a higher standard than you. And every post I made about this album I mentioned how I've just listened to it once or a few times so that's my intial reaction. This could very well grow on me. And I've never gave this album a rating yet but I think it has to fall somewhere between a 6.5/10 and 8/10.
-
I like it, think the album sounds good. Peace~
-
yeah i cant believe im not gonna buy a snoop album...im not feeling much of what he does anymore...its too bad
-

yup yup!

This album is listenable. Not good, but definitely not as bad as you people mae it out to be (6.5/10). Geez, yall really need to lay off the "he needs Dre" bullshit. Even tho the production could have been better, Snoop came off tighter than ever on all of the songs.
Yall are confused as fuck, man... if you're waiting for a Doggystyle 2 to come out, then you'll probably react this way to EVERY fuckin album he releases.
I SUGGEST YOU REMEMBER THIS LINE FOR EVERY SNOOP ALBUM YOU'LL BE BASHING FROM HERE ON END
Get with the times, the Doggystyle Era is dead as dead.

Tha reason snoop sounds whack now a days is cause he dont smoke weed anymore.

no actually his flow is better when he doesnt smoke, it's just the production, and all that rnb shit on all stars was pretty weak

i never said anything bad about snoop ever..... this is the first time i am posting something about snoop that 'seems' negative
i love snoop but i just cant feel his new shit shit, and by new shit i mean All Stars album and Paid the cost
i am not one of those people who say he sucks ever since doggystyle etc

Word..

damn i love snoop but shit man like i said i can admit that this album just aint up there with the rest......this was his chance to make that classic album .....i bought his album the first day just so that i do....cause my initial reaction was that it wasnt all that....so i made sure to get it fast because he finally gettin paid.........i think i owe him that atleast....anyway not a horible album but not a snoop album.....you say he came hot on the flow and and his delivery and shit if that is tha case thats tight but just imagine that with Dre on the beat.....now you get what im saying...just makes it that much better......or just a banging beat....the best beat on the album is track #2 da boss would like to see you and he dont even rap over it....big waste....that could have been the track that blew us all away or over the line....i would prob be saying that shit is tight in that situation.

UNDER THE INFLUENCE is at least 10 times better than this new one snoop dogg album.

I agree 100%
-
I've always liked Snoop an' I'm feelin' the new album, but there's no doubt that he's not even close to what he used to/can be.
-
its funny how Die Hard fans are hatin on this album and its gettin good reviews everywhere
-
I think the reason Paid the Cost is getting reviews is becasue of the Eastcoast influences............really, all of the hiphop media where everyone is seeing these reviews is east coast oriented, so of course they are gonna like the Premo tracks and Lollipop. Also, considering the Neptunes are EVERYWHERE, it seems like its a rule that you cant have a good album nowadays without them.
If you replaced the two Premo songs with a soopalfy track and a Meech track, this album would be receiving horrible ratings from all these reviewers who usually shit on Snoop. In reality, this album is likely a 3 or 3.5 (at best) outta 5....not a bad album, but most 'diehard" snoop fans expect more.
And FUCK EVERYONE who is saying that the people who dont like this album are just mad cuz it aint like Doggystyle 2! I mean seriously, do you think i would still consider Snoop relevant if i only liked his one album which dropped almost 9 years ago? I have loved Doggfather, NL TOp Dogg, and Last meal was dope too.........DOggfather is classic and the others had POTENTIal if there were a few changes. Paid the COst has no potential to make a huge mark, it just is what it is, a solid album with NOTHING at all spectacular.
I agree, Doggystyle allstars and Paid the Cost have truly changed my opinion of Snoop; he is a great artist, but it is now evident that he has a terrible ear for music and doesn't know the difference between a wack song or beat and a dope one. The first Snoop related release i didnot buy was Doggstyle Allstars, and i never thought i wouldnt be excited to buy a Snoop album the day it came out..............
-
man this album is to put Snoop Dogg on top thats why the cd is east coast influenced if the album was straight west coast then only WEST COAST fans would be happy and world wide peeps would consider this as a Last Meal 2 ..This Album got anything on it : love songs, club banger , party track ..diss track... this album got a lil bit of everything its a versatile record ..if it was Straight WestCOast nobody would pay attention to it and if the first single was produced by Soopafly or Daz well it would've fuck up the album and again only die hard fans would be happy.
Snoop is makin albums for everybody not only for Di Hard fans that still dream about another DOGGYSTYLE its 2002 the game aint the same...the sound aint the same and thats why West Coast Artist dont sell its because the keep using the same sound wich its a decade old so only West COast fans will be happy about it because They been listening to that shit forever but outside the West who would play a track by Mc Eiht or Rappin 4 tay in the club NOBODY because their sound dont match with the flava of this time . So about Snoop rappin over Neptunes or Hi Tek beats its great because it aint about East/West now its about Good music and makin new sound (Jelly roll. Fredwreck)
-
What's going on with snoop dogg?
He is makin' dope music these days
-
the new snoop record got too much eastcoast influence. snoop comes dope, but the music isnt westcoast enough. if i wanna hear eastcoast, i buy eastcoast. damn...snoop is westcoast. i dont care about sales etc., i wanna hear snoop over hot westcoast beats.
-
are you guys about the flow rhymes and delivery or abut the beats??
im just wondering ::)
-
Who said Snoop was W/C?

I don't use the word dickrider a lot, however, I have to say that I've noticed quite a few in this thread. People are jumping all over other people who aren't even bashing Snoop. I find it quite funny that some of you can't stand to see anything remotely negative towards Snoop.
Snoop & Dre got me into hip-hop, I got every Snoop album (except this one, just downloaded it so far) & both Eastsidaz albums, I'm a fan of his. It's not like I want to be let down and I'm not expecting a "Doggystyle 2" but I want an album where I'm not so anxious to hit the fast-forward button half the time.
Sorry that I can admit that one of my fav. artists could improve his work.
