Alright my cousin is a huge Eminem fan and the other day he told me that Em was the dopest lyricist today...I told him slow your roll kid he's dope but he ain't the nicest...He told me to come up with 5 better lyricists and then I told him I can come up with 10...

It depends on what your taliking about.
If you're only considering lyrics, rhymes structure, complexity & vocabulary and not thier flow, delivery, diversity, voice...and everything else that makes good emcee, then here are 5 heavyweight lyricists:

you dudes gotta be trippin...canibus just released a lyrical bible in MicClub...if you haven't heard it yet, do so. canibus cannot be touched, if you can get passed the fact that most magazines don't give him the credit he deserves and you actually think for yourselves you will recognize this...i respect it 100%, it helps to be an emcee as well to get the full effect of how bis spit 60 bar verses at the very least on almost every track...that album is incredible, and bis proved himself to be on a completely different level than eminem, peace.

i liked crooked i since his days with C Style and the DPG...but i began to really like crooked i after his battle against Chino XL...he proved there that he is a rhyme animal...no dickriding...

Eminem makes hella sense and millions can relate to his struggle, Although his problem's might be fantasy to most of us {Cause we love our Parent's}...his tales about being bullied and picked on cause of his tone hitz alot of people at home cause they might have experienced the same struggles....I appreciate when EM spitt's the life stuff..all his battle shitt can rest in piss for all I care.
I'll take "Stan" like stories any day over....Acid spitt or his head ripp "O.G." bullshit any day.
When hip-hop deliver's some sort of creativity or pay's homage to their spite or humor...like:
"Guilty Conscience" {Eminem}
"Scarface" {The Geto boys}
"I got a story to tell" {Biggie}
"Keep ya head up" {2pac}
"Entire Death side....of Cube's "Death Certificate"
Ect...
I enjoy song's that will last....not blasting mc's who only battle and can't come with anything else I enjoy their music aswell, just I don't think their battles will last the test of time.

I agree, although I wouldn't necesserily put the MC's you listed in that particular order. I do appreciate and respect battle MC's for what they bring and I enjoy listening to their freestyles but when it comes to really listening to music I like something with real content and Em is better than most of the MC's listed in this thread when it comes to that imo. He's a better songwriter in other words.

Damn I forgot to put Canibus in there...Dude is on a whole other planet when it comes to lyrics...I think if I had to pick one lyricist as the best in all of hiphop as much as I like Nas it would have to be between Canibus and Ras...and if Kurupt was the Kurupt of '95 I would put him above Em but nowadays he's probably barely above Em's brother Nathan...

I can name more than 10 rappers that are better when it comes to lyrical content.
He is definitely one of the best mainstream rappers ever when it comes to multis but there are two rappers that I know of that far exceed him, Pun and G Rap. And multi-syllable rhymes aren't what makes an exceptional M.C. otherwise you kids should praise Fabolous because he has a lot.
Eminem has one of the best flows and throws in a lot of ill punchlines.
Like the cat said above it's all opinion in what you define as a lyricist. Do you want content and substance or just want to be dazzled with meaningless jibberish although Em is one of the few that can use both to an extent.

^^^^good to see someone is expandin..props to u...now busdriva is a monster...u see him and he looks like a regular dude...not even a hip hop lookin muthafucka...he looks like a college student n shit...but he gets on the mic and fuckin kills it...one of the fastest flows ive ever heard...plus the shit he says is crazy...id pick up his shit...but i dont got an underground store around me...and when u see them at their shows they never have enough cds to slang...but i love his shit...but its all prefrence...takes some gettin used to...cuz i know at first i thought it was wack...but now i look back and smack my self...shit is tight
