you should also def. check artists like Lou Rawls, Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, Isley Brothers, Detroit Spinners, O'jays, Smokey Robinson, Tyrone Davis, Stevie Wonder, Donny hethaway, Jerry Butler, Bobby Womack & of course the whole Motown artists (Marvin gaye, Diana Ross & Supremes, David Ruffin, Eddie kendricks etc) Stax (Isaac hayes, William Bell, Sam&Dave, Otis Redding etc)

if u was raised on as much music i was raised on and heard the stuff i heard...when soul music comes up..the 1st thing folks bring up is stax and motown..u would see where im comin from
people tend to forget or dont know about solomon burke, al green, millie jackson, billy preston, ann peebles, tyron davis, betty davis, jerry butler, dee clark,30,000 other soul singers that fall below the radar..
