I was listening to it the other day and i could say is damn and i really underestimated this album i bought when it came out and listened to it and i liked like 2 songs on there but the shit is definitely hot.
-
its all over the place and doesnt fit x's style IMO...of course compared to restless
-
vastly slept on...Of course west coast fans are disappointed because it wasn't "Restless" pt.2, which was pretty much the blue print for what a west coast album should sound like circa 2000.
But on any given day, I'll bump WOMD over Restless - and vice versa.
To me, WOMD is to Xzibit's discography with War & Peace Vol.1 is to Cube's - a very dark sounding album that X/Cube fans either LOVE or HATE
-
restless is a classic that can't be touch but w.m.o.d ain't so bad

Yeah i was comparing it to restless or man vs machine it doesn't have Dre on it but its a cool ass album.
-
Yup, real talk, I liked it too. Including 'Hey Now (Mean Muggin)'. Haha.
-
personal classic to me.
i can bump the entire album start to finish on any given day. 8)
so slept on, but one of my favorites of the last decade. 8)
-
Album has some great and some real weak songs, overall it isn't that good. After "Restless" Xzibit's album have been weaker and weaker.
-
real talk okka

-
yup, i liked it. the joint wit Bussa-bus and "Crazy Ho" were favorites for a long time
-
Yeah I made a post about this a few months ago, album is definitely under rates, some sick Hi Tek beats on there, and Xzibit does his thing

i guess this forum has a script to repeat a certain subject every few months :sign_lastweek:

I remember getting this when it came out, I remember being surprised at how good it turned out. Man Vs Machine was a let down, although there were some good songs.
the highlights for me are:
Cold World
Saturday Night Live
Criminal Set
Ride or Die
Klack
Back 2 The Way It Was
on Muthafucka anybody agree the intro built up real good but when the beat hit, it was a let down?
its like at :03sec you go :) :) :) :) :) :) :) then at 10 seconds its like :D :D :D :D :D :D :15sec :o :o :o :o :o :o then :22 sec when Xzibit starts the chorus and the beat hits its just :P :P :P :P :-\ they should added those keys to the beat! :-\
-
whoa whoa damn thats a first
It's much better than restless in my point!

I was about to post the same thing.
It is a good album though.

if i repeated myself everytime, i would have had the most posts on here

It's much better than restless in my point!
Thats way off the mark but you arer welcome to your opinion.
I will agree with him that Restless isn't his best album though. His first 2 are far superior to me.

Lol this forum does move in cycle though, like every 6 months someone brings up that Snoop Dogg Over The Counter album lol, Im guilty of it myself

Restless is probably my Fave, but 40 Dayz and 40 Nights is clost behind
-
lyrically and just plain "hip hop" wise no doubt Xzibit's first two albums are better than "Restless" - and don't get me wrong I LOVE Restless, but ppl only consider that his best because of the time period it came out in.

Calling this album good is nothing but wishfull thinking. If you had said that the album is a solid piece of shit, I would agree with you

haha for real compared to what he could do
man vs machine>>>>
womd>>>>full circle

yeah damn such a classic song
ima go in....year 2k>>>>>first 2 albums
im not feelin the sound he had on them and the production he chose
thats why restless is so dope....cuz he changed his sound for the better and it wasnt str8 dretox either....it was everyone
year 2k
get your walk on
best of things
the e-dub beats
damn that era was dope
-

understandable, from a production point of view, the first album stinks, i love Paparazzi though, what about you?
2nd album is a bit better, but it wasn't quite there yet.
-
not feelin it to be honest
restless even wit the weak joints.....still was much better....the sound of the album was ahead of its time IMO and way better than his first two
shame dre chose money over dope artists to work with
but x as an artist has to look back and see what hes created
at first i wasnt feelin the krs one and nate dogg joints but even they got better

you don't like Paparazzi? fair enough, didn't expect that though.
Restless is Xzbit's best album, i agree with that.
anyway hold on, are you saying Dre stopped working with Xzibit because of money? where did you get that from?
besides, wasn't full circle rushed? that may explain why Dre wasn't involved
-
nah not feelin compared to restless
well yeah dre chose busta, game, eminem and others over someone he made a album with that did well
but also to his credit x chose pimp my ride which was a bad move
not that sales determine everythin, but what did restless do?
and x could have made a dope album without dre, but considerin he made the album wit him and appeared in the year 2k video and X
why not make a better album instead of goin downhill with man vs machine and even worse with womd and full circle was jus bottom of the barrel

Wow, thats a ridiculous statement. Are you trying to topple Radiotube when it come to shock value?
Are you telling me that Year 2000 is better than The Foundation, Paparazzi, Eyes May Shine, 3 Card Molly, What U See Is What U Get, etc?
-
haha nah jus playin but that song is dope
3 card molly is dope....but those 2 albums are a lil overrated

No doubt Year 2000 is a great track, I go back and check it quite regularly. No way are those 2 albums over-rated.
-

40 Dayz & Nightz is a classic & arguably his best album... :stupid:
-Chamber Music
-3 Card Molly
-Focus
-Let It Rain
just as examples; it's a classic.
At the Speed of Light, a ridiculously amazing album.
-At the Speed of Light
-Paparazzi
-Foundation
-Enemies and Freinds
two amazing albums; how can anybody go against those? ???
-
its not goin at against in a bad way cham...but restless was ahead of its time and better than those albums
but IMO its split
50/50 on how people think of which album is better
-
Very much a slept on album.
Classic production too on there.
-

Out of them 3, my favourite is At The Speed Of Life. But the best one is probably 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz. I've come to appreciate that album more than ATSOL over time.

haha jokin but year 2k is mad dope
Yeah, it is but so are Xzibit's two first albums. I'd say his first three are CLASSICS, after that the albums have been wacker and wacker. "Man Vs Machine" was alright, it had a lot of dope songs but overall it wasn't that good, same with "WOMD". "Full Circle" has one GREAT song that i still listen to.
-
