Bishops track with most potential to this date. Song had everything, monster beat by Khalil, hook fits prefect and Bishop effort was also on point. With some decent promo and a nice video this would be a good single. Modern day westcoast classic. 8)

Agreed.

He did alright imo. I hate the hook though.. wtf.
To me every Khalil beat gets wasted on random cats with lackluster efforts.
Too bad since Khalil makes MONSTER beats!
-
incredible beat and vibe....but bishop's slower, constipated sounding delivery is pretty terrible...
-
Love this track
New Royals on the hook too 8)

should of, could of, but didn't.
if it was a single to his album that was heavily pushed by the label, i could see it doing decently on the charts.

perfectly described ;)

i thought the bitch tracks would've set shit off foreal foreal. i liked em... "bad girl", "porno ?", and that other joint. i mean, the confessional should've been slightly shorter (even tho i enjoy most of it all now) and released professionally without his name being so attached to dr. dre's. everything would've worked out fine. not all is lost tho i guess.

i remember this statement. didn't Damizza feel the same way? i thought he played it for Jimmy Iovine.
anyway, i'd say that Bishop's flow is a little sloppy on this, but i can see why someone would say that the song has crossover appeal.
but, Bishop was a distraction from Detox

do you really...deep inside...believe that?

He probably was and I'm a huge fan of Bishop Lamont. Dr.Dre will never switch up his image because it'll hurt his legacy or his dollars. Either one he won't play with. So, him and Bishop we're never going to see eye to eye on the music. Bishop stated on NY radio he though crack a bottle was wack. Not exactly a smart move (though with the exception of 50's verse I agree). Bishop, despite not releasing the Reformation, probably got the better deal of the two.

I agree. "City Lights" & "Grow Up" are my favrote songs Bishop has done so far except this reeeaallyyy erie song Dre did for him about a ouija (wee-gee) board on halloween.. (CRAZY)
I gave "City Lights" to Jimmy Iovine months ago when I took Vanessa Marquez up to see him & told him the same thing (along with Taje's mixtape & some of Mike Ant's stuff). Bishops whole camp is is like the Dogg Pound all over again. Mike Ant, Prime, Dae One, Diverse, JRK, Taje, Indef & the whole crew is dope!

LOL @ Bishop with a hit

i guess it is a joke to say Bishop had a hit.

interscope should have just given Bishop a chance with Grow Up
