I like it. Is this indicative of Dre's new production style?
-
No. This was clearly made with Cudi in mind. Not a new direction Dre is taking.
Also, this has been posted in outbound : http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=245303.msg2477770#new
I like it too btw.

love it, kid cudi stan those so im biased lol

Hehe i feel you homie, but this is the kind of track i'd expect from Cudi. Its typical, spaces out, weed music. Beat is not typical Dre (good for him, he switched it up), it sounded very simple at first but the crispness of the mixing (especially the bass and the snaps) make it good.

Getting a little emotional there with 2001 ? hahah.. nah im messing with you homie, yeah the mixing on that is crips as frrruuuck !
haha, yeah the mixing on chronic was... never done ? if im not mistaken, most of the album was recorded withing 24-48 hours right ? Because they dre wasnt gonna make it to the deadline so basically the whole chornic crew was in the studio and they banged that out in one stretch, right ?
Still Dre ? Still the shit my man. 8)

hehe yeah, i didnt see ur post :P but we basically said the same thing ... epic first single man !! ''im representing for the gangsta all across the worrrrrrld! still!'' The memory of me hearing that song for the first time is SO clear to me. i think that that song had the biggest and most positive first impression for me. ever....
thats until we hear the first single of Detox :P .
-
this shit is fire!! :o 8)
-
Not too sure.... i always assumed he wrote the whole thing. Maybe snoop lent a hand as well ... but yeah. (we're totally going off topic here but..) That song is monumental. It should have its own holiday lol. Dre day bitch !

the drum elements are similar to some of the weaker shit on relapse. as a beat i'm not really feeling it, sounds like a leftover or unfinished.
on the other hand the minimalist style is probably deliberate and does fit well with the vibe of the track. decent either way 8)

Leftover ? I dont think so ... it has a very strong Cudi vibe that would make me think that this track was made for Cudi. Dont you think so ?
-
its dretox....he gives out beats like its botox....lol
he's tryna get back in the game

i meant leftover quality wise...but your right, "on the other hand the minimalist style is probably deliberate and does fit well with the vibe of the track".
-
Definitely made for Cudi. I like this shit. How did Cudi get a Dre beat? He's popular.

My bad, i hadnt read that part properly :P and yeah, when i first heard the track i thought of it as a ''leftover'' quality wise (unfinished, minimalistic instrumentation) but then i realized it ''fits the vibe of the track'' :P.

Probably a snoop connection ?

confirmed NOT produced by Dre now.
"UPDATE: Seems like the notions were right as I just got an email stating that this was actually produced by Austin “Watts” Garrick and Rashad “Ringo” Smith of Tumblin’ Dice Productions."

i recorded the snoop joint that leaked around the time i was workin on MOTM, its a deleted scene that im including on Cudder. I DID NOT LEAK IT and i barely have a name for it so ill let u guys kno whats its really called as soon as i figure it out haha. By the time u hear it on the album it will be a bit diff with a better mix and some other shit added. Also, the homie Rashad “Ringo” Smith produced the record, NOT DR. DRE. if u got the record already cool. if not, if u can find it rock out.
and remember
WE SHININ
WE ROLLIN
WE SIPPIN
WE SMOKIN
WE LIVIN
WE HAPPY
THEYY MAAAADDDDDDD! FUCK EM :)
peace and love
