somewhere right now dre is laughing at this thread.....
Rakim- Oh My God
Dr. Dre- Detox
Ice Cube- (dont know the title)
three classics in the making......
-
i like the way you didnt mention the "Eminem Show" either.......cause that shit sold mad copies and is still selling like crazy......and i still rather bump 2001 (3 Years old) over any fuckin so so def shit......
-
Jermaine is doin more shit these days so I think he's laughin
and bout DETOX & OH MY GOD
what if "OH MY GOD" flop
maybe its impossible but Dre put alot of effort on Truth Hurts and saying that this will change the R&B but this shit was kinda wack it was too hiphop and flop so what if the same thing happens with Rakim...Okay he's a Legend so what I just hope he'll bring sumthin dope to this rap game of today
But til that I see JD laughin like a muthafucka

you got some valid points....but this is not a R & B album....i think Rakim is gonna bring heat on some hot as production...but like you said we got to wait til we get Oh My God....but i expect nothing but heat from them....yet it can be a dissapointment....but really how much has jermain done?...i think they both been out of the spotlight...and if you think that lil bow wow and jagged edge were good then whats up with the eminem show...that album shits on all the so so def stuff released....atleast in my opinion
-
Dre= 2 classics...And I'm just talking about his solo albums...
Jermaine=?

well Jermaine Dupri brought alot of HITS as a producer and he's doin a good job as a CEO with alot of good talents and he's bringin Heat every year
The only talent on Dre's side thats famous is Slim shady
-
Rap fans is not = RnB fans
Many of Dre's fans don't listen to RnB so his name doesn't help as much as on a Rap record.
I think Man Vs Machine was dopeŽand Knoc's only released an EP and it was his label that fucked that shit up.
Aftermath 's doing big thangs with Rakim, Ice Cube & Dre 's own LP this will sell mad copies and so will any further Em lp.
Plus there's much hype about 50 at the moment.
Plus Dre gets paid WAY betta for one beat than JD
And quality wise u can't even argue 'bout who's doing betta
-
well whats selllin most these days : R&B
whats playin in the clubs these days : R&B
and right about now Jermaine Dupri is bringing heat everywhere and his sound is fresh
I love Dre but now he's not doin shit the last single "Satisfaction" aint that great ...
but in fact u cant compare Jermaine Dupri to Dr.Dre yeah they're both dope and sucks as mc's but they're not doin the same thing JD is more versatile and Dre is more Hardcore
-
truth hurts- FLOP
xzibit- FLOP
knoc- FLOP
Sippin on some Hatorade??
Truth Hurts was a flop compared to what Eminem does, but going gold isn't a flop.
Xzibit was a flop compared to his last album at this time, but gold isn't flop, and "Symphony in X Major" will be big. At least platinum.
Knoc isn't even released yet, and Dre only does a few cuts for Knoc.

damn...lil kiddies catchin feelins eh?
jd said that no other producer was touchin him in RNB and both timbaland and dre caught feelings
kinda funny now that ms. jade and knoc and truth hurts flopped...especially truth hurts

hey thats true though MS. Jade was a biig flop I think its because she didnt do a video for "feel That Girl" and its weird that "Ching Ching" is not makin noise :o :o

damn...lil kiddies catchin feelins eh?
jd said that no other producer was touchin him in RNB and both timbaland and dre caught feelings
But didn't JD actually mention their names not just "no other producer"?
-
well he mentioned them in the context of other dope producers
i just think the whole thing was stupid, especially since in the source witht tha eastsidaz on the cover timbaland admitted jd was ahead of him
then he caught feelin?
-
truth hurts- FLOP
xzibit- FLOP
knoc- FLOP
Yup. Exactly. D12 didn't do that great, either, the Wash didn't do good. Put all your money on the white boy, Dre.

I think Oh My God will flop. No way it'll sell over 1 million, which would be a flop with all they're hyping it to be.

Exactly, I feel the same way. It was nothing, Dre blew it way out of proportion, Tim too, especially Dre though. All that hating from Suge knight, and he doesn't say 1 word, but yet talk all that trash to Jermaine Dupri on a diss song. I could have seen Dre saying "Jermaine, You ain't even on my level" or something like that in an interview, or even on a song, but all that little girl stuff he pulled dissin J.D., having Em diss him, having X diss him, that was way out of line. Dre's acting like a bully, and now he loves to rap about how many records he's sold, how platinum he is, etc. Dre's changing.
BTW. Yall are quick to say "Truth hurts went gold, that's not a flop", but when I said the same thing about Michael Jackson selling 8 million copies worldwide of his new cd, yall were like "Oh, such a dissapointment, his new album Flopped blah blah blah". A little Instant Karma, heh?

Cloud's a HATER!

There is two sides to flopping: Sales wise...and the content wise.
I'm not even gonna really touch up on X & Knoc cause they aren't on Dre's label and Dre had little to do with X's LP and Knoc hasn't even dropped. I think Timbaland handles r&b the best, and Dre the best rap/overall...but Dupri isn't saying shit now cause he got stomped on by Dre, Em & X. He hasn't said shit cause he knows he lost.
Truth could of been better if more shit on their was like "Addictive."
Copies wise MJ's LP wasn't a flop, of course not he'll sell cause he is fuckin Michael Jackson. When you look @ it for it's music the album flopped BIG TIME. Trauma...remember when you told me MJ's new shit was like a total new sound? That music reps didn't even want to release the music cause we weren't ready for it? WTF happened, "Invincible" was nothing like that.

I dunno, that was the hype coming from Sony. I think it sonded great, but I guess most people didn't.
