Title: Once again....ya'll firefox people
Post by: QuietTruth on March 26, 2010, 03:32:20 PM
I bought a MP3 off Amazon and I can't find it.. and I cleared it off the 'downloads' pop up, is there any way I can get it back?

For some reason this time it opened into Windows Media Player to save and of course I exited it cuz I thought it opened up by itself, and now I can't re-open the file to 'save it as'.. Ya'll know how to fix it that way? I see the stupid file, but it won't let me play it.

I don't even know if the stupid shit is saved in a temporary folder or not, but muthafuckas this is my fuckin' $0.99, and I can't fuckin' find it. Please, if you know any tips holla at me, +1!

Can I download another copy of my MP3 files after the initial purchase?

Your Amazon MP3 Music purchases can only be downloaded once. After you have successfully downloaded the file to your computer at the time of purchase, we recommend that you create a backup copy.

We are currently unable to replace any purchased files that you delete or lose due to a system or disk error. If you encounter a problem with an MP3 file immediately after purchase, please click the Customer Service button in the Contact Us box in the right-hand column of this page so we can determine how to help you.

Nope.

Aight, fair warning niggas, don't fucks wit Amazon.

Right, that's why I wonder if I can get back somewheres.

yeah i really want to get it for you so let's see.
i can't guarantee anything, but i do know where temporary files are stored.

-go to my computer

-click on the letter of your default harddrive (C: for example)
-click on the 'windows' folder
-look for the folder temp and click on it.

see if the song is there

even if you cleared the download box, it shouldnt have been lost just like that...shit sucks man, but if you've checked everywhere then it just shows you gotta watch out for amazon...i woulda thought if the download had finished the file would then be in the folder you've set your downloads to save to under Tools>Options>General  8)

Firefox made that folder on my computer when I first installed it.

damn dogg, you probably opened the file instead of saving it to your compueter....
so basically saving to your computer>>>>opening it cause at the end of the day you still have the file

And I even did the other shit mentioned too. How fuckin' wack doggs. I mean would could it have gone? Where could it be? And why would it be where it's at? Feel me dukes?

Firefox made that folder on my computer when I first installed it.
he said he opened it with WMP, so the file couldn't be saved there...
when you open a file with a program, as opposed to 'save' it, it goes to a temporary folder

Yeah I done did that too.

damn.
you're welcome.

yeah i guess the file was stored temporary & disappeared/moved when you closed mediaplayer.

well, you see, windows media player has a library & remembers all songs that were played in the past.
so it remembered the song, but it's unable to play it, since it's not available anymore ( or the file is moved to an unknown location).

sorry if i confuse you with what i'm about to say,
but Windows' method for deleting files is not 100% recovery proof.
sometimes you can still recover files, using recovery software.

try this, it's free
