Kanye is a producer before an MC, don't get why he wouldn't produce his whole album by himself. But those three are fantastic producers so I'm sure it won't hurt.

Not complaining either.

Kanye will probally produce the album under their guidance.

Hopefully they will lead him away from the Autotuner.

Kanye can drop some awesome beats, especially for himself.
i'm hyped for this album as long as he gets back on the right track.

I've always preferred the beats he's given to other artists.

he's given some dope ones to other people; but his albums production is always dope.
i loved Graduation's production, i want his next album to sound like that.

Kanye was an mc/rapper before he was a producer. He only started making beats to rap over his own shit.
-
I'm liking this, i have a feeling Kanye might just leave the autotune alone for this album.
-
why did they left Soulja Boy from the list?? he is also working on the album :-X

Don't know if that's right, but he certainly was a known for his producing before his rapping. With songs like Beans' "The Truth", Jay's "Heart Of The City", Scarface's "Guess Who's Back" and so on. He's a producer first, MC second. He had many great songs before The College Dropout came out.

mainstream he became a hit producer first, labels were hesititant to promote him as he wasnt a generic street type rapper..

Nice, loved every Kanye album, this will be no excetption w/ collab's from his influnences.
-
hopefully kanye brings back the soul and stops trying to sound like some euro trash electro band

With Q-Tip, RZA and Pete Rock, 3 producers who Kanye modeled his original sound after, I am sure Kanye will comeback refreshed and back to his roots. And not a moment too soon, Hip-Hop NEEDS Kanye to be on top of his game if Hip-Hop it's self wants to strive.
-
Hasn't Kanye always had outside producers on his albums? And I don't mean like in a Dr. Dre "co-producer" way. I don't have his last album but I'm pretty sure the first three had at least a few songs that were produced by other producers. Obviously, he produces the bulk because as an artist, he knows he wants but I don't find him bringing other people into the fold to be that odd.
-
I liked 808s production sound. Granted it doesn't work with many artist vocal styles but Jeezy sounds amazing over the tweaked 808s.

agree'd 8) It's nice to see RZA on a couple big albums as well first I saw he on Game's now Kanye's

he needs to go back to college dropout formula

he needs to go back to college dropout formula
He got that style from Q-Tip, RZA and Pete Rock. In College Dropout he called himself the new age Pete Rock. The other producer he models himself after is Dr. Dre, but his busy not releasing Detox... ;)

he was the dretox on that album....he had his own sound...and noone else was fluckin wit him at the time...he hasnt been the same since

I'd rather he use these producers. Kanye West has made it very clear over his past two albums that he can't make a decent hip-hop beat for himself anymore. If he wants to continue making pop music then thats cool, I wish him luck, but if his next LP sounds anything like 808s did then he's lost a one-time fan in me.

He was a producer before he was a rapper. He also just wanted to rap too.

yeah, i always thought he produced first.

He did produce first. No idea what that guy is going on about.

Kanye started out as a rapper when he was underground/not signed to a major label. But mainstream Kanye became well known as a producer first as labels were hesitant to market a 'non street' rapper. He said himself in an interview a few years ago, that he only starting producing so that he would have something to rap his own shit over.

Dude was ghost producing for D-Dot aka the Mad Rapper WAY before he was rapping. Check his interviews. He ghost produced a ton of shit for him in the 90's.
-
Hopefully this doesn't suck.
-
Kanye should be producing all of it, I don't want to Kanye raps on other peoples beats
-
I'm pretty sure Kanye started off as a producer first, then Jay pushed him as a rapper..
Can't wait to hear his new shit though, he's been pretty quiet since his Taylor Swift incident haha
-
any dates for anything floating around?

Well it is true he did always try to rap, he actually sucked. He was one of Jay's main producers but Jay never wanted to hear him rap. He then went on tour with Talib Kweli and that's when he started to master his crafted. That's why when he came out he was always with Talib, Mos Def, one of his goals was to produce a Common record, because that's the kind of Hip-Hop he wanted to do. But somewhere in-between Dilated Peoples and Slum Village, and Late Registration Kanye decided he wanted to start to experiment. Since the Taylor Swift incident he said he needed a break as he hasn't really stopped since the Dropout. My guess that allowed him to reflect and start to adjust the direction he wanted his career to go. I said this in 2004, and I think it holds true today, Kanye is just as important to Hip-Hop as Dr. Dre in 1992. The direction he takes his album will shape where other producers go. That's why I never bought Heartbreak and 808. It could have been a 5 mic classic, but to me Kanye was following the trend instead of making it. Kanye is more suited to make trends. Here's hoping he drops some dope shit.
-
damn he was producin bangers back in the day
-
i havent really gave a fuck what hes done since his second album, but i might peep this, hopefully he brings it back and makes some normal music....
