have u seen Halladay's last 8 or so years?
must better than Lincecum's first 3
-
Halladay is hands down the best pitcher in baseball and has been for a long time.He didnt get much exposure in Toronto and he had to be in the same division as the yankees and red sox.The american league is much more hitting orientated and he dominated there. Now look at him in the national league, hes alreayd 4-0.Pitchers come and go but halladay is consistent and throws complete games like their nothing.
-
Everybody and their momma knows Halladay is an ace and arguably the best pitcher in baseball right now. It's not like if people didn't recognize who he was in Toronto. And I'm talking about baseball fans, because really who gives a fuck about the casual sports fan.

Yeah he is amazing no doubt. Lets not act like it is far fetched to say that Lincecum is the best in the game though. He has won cy young's in each of his first two seasons and has a great chance to win his 3rd CY young this year.

Halladay is the best pitcher in baseball and has been for quite some time.
-
yea hes been dope, but now hes really gonna be nasty, would love to see 25 or more wins from him, whoa son. (bullpen might fuck some shit up for him, a la blowing a 3-0 lead in 9th inning on monday)

false, the last 2 years Lincy has been the best pitcher in baseball.

we all know CC is the best in the world
Lincy can't go 250 innings a year + dominate in the playoffs
-
i don't get the Phils, what was the point of Doc?
yeah, he's without a doubt five times better than Cliff Lee, but Lee beat us in the Playoffs anyway.
Doc can pitch a perfect game against us in the WS, it's still just a win; doesn't help them in games 2, 3 & unless he pitches it, game 4.
just seemed like an odd logic to me; if they could of kept both Lee & Doc, that would be intimidating.
-
well we, the fans, were all pretty pissed for them not keeping both, and despite all the excuses they gave, i still think we should have
but as far as the "swap",when i think it came down to, they didnt want to pay 20 a year to cliff lee (despite how dope Lee did last year, doc is overall a much better pitcher), and would have to pay close to it when they resigned him...

Propz on posting this. Again, Lincy has been the best pitcher in the majors the last 2 years no doubt
-
Look at the cgs, innings, bbs hallady is much better in that regards. And put up halladays stats from the last 8 seasons and find one pitcher that has better numbers and as consistent.Lets see lincy have halladays long consistency and tell me whos the better pitcher.Their numbers the last two seasons arent far off from eachother but when you add in what halladay has done the last decade and this current season, hands down halladay is the best pitcher in baseball.
-
More bats miss the ball with Lincy on the mound but Doc lets less batters reach base. Lincy has the better ERA and lower H/9 and HR/9 rates, while Doc will give you more innings and CG games giving the bullpen a rest. Both have outstanding stats and each guy is a little stronger in difference areas, but one thing I would take into consideration is the quality of the opponents, the NL West is no AL East.
-
how many times has Lincy faced the Yankees & Redsox?

He has dominated everyone he has ever faved. I cant wait until end of the season when Lincy finishes with the better year, I will definitely bring this thread back up.

the Dodgers are a tough lineup, but the rest of the NL West is trash.
Doc hasn't gotten off to this good a start in his entire career & it's just coincidental it's his first year in the NL? you HAVE to give Doc some sort of "degree of difficulty" points for pitching against the two best lineups in Baseball.
i love Lincy more than any pitcher in the league, including the Yankees staff lol; but i'm not going to say he's "hands down" the best in the league.
-
well..... we, the dodgers, get to face lincecum on the regular for years to come - oh happy day.
and to be a player in october, we get to deal with halladay. yippie.
is my excitement bleeding through my words? is it?!

After Lincy's domination of the Cards tonight, he's 4-0 with a 1.00 era. Doc 4-0 with 0.82 era, its gonna be a great Cy Young race this year
-

But adjusted ERA takes that into consideration and Lincy has Halladay on that one.

I guess so, I stand corrected but I'm not a huge fan of how they calculate ERA+. If the quality of other pitchers in the NL is worse than the ERA+ of a good pitcher's ERA+ in that league would benefit from it. I just don't think that if the league's ERA is high that it necessarily means the hitters in the league are really good, could just be shitty pitchers.

Giants owned Doc tonight 8) 8)
-
^ yea they did, everyone needs an outing like that though, im suprized, that phils didnt score in ALLL THOSE FUCKIGN CHANCES THAT THEY HAD!!!!
