Title: Westcoast rap in the last Decade has had 2 artists; GAME and Snoop
Post by: jabella on April 28, 2010, 02:19:51 PM: If there was no Game, what commercial success would westcoast rap have had in the last 10 years? No songs on the radio apart from Snoops songs.

Without Game and Snoop there wouldn't have been a westcoast track played in NY, ATL, DC, Canada, Europe, Australia.

No Game and Snoop = no westcoast rap

Xzibit - 1 platinum album and 2 gold albums
Ice Cube - 2 gold albums
Westside Connection - 1 gold album

"G'd Up", "Why We Thugs", "X", "Front To Back", "Gangsta Nation" all got video and radio play.

E 40 had a monster single with Tell me When to Go. Too Short Blowin got a lot of radio spins. Mac Dre and Messy Marv had underground success too

LOL when eastsidaz drop i luv it everyone was on that track around here and i live in canada,when i went to bahrain (the island near saudi arabia) in 2007 e40 u and dat was playing all the fucking time on the radio and the clubs

if the last decade showed us anything it's that times have changed & chances are, the more underground you are, the better you are lol.

WC's "Guilty By Affiliation" could not have been heard, start to finish, by more than 15,000 people; yet, it's easily one of the best albums off the Coast this past decade.

personally, i could give a fuck less who sells records, who gets recognition & who gets spins on the radio; it's about listening to good music.

not to take anything from Game, he dropped two GREAT albums this past decade. 8)
