Earlier this week, we announced that Crooked I is currently gearing up to release a brand new digital EP in the near future. A tentative release date has now been made public.
Gracie Productions, the label responsible for delivering Crooked I's Mr. Pig Face Weapon Waist and Royce Da 5'9"'s Street Hop, have announced that fans can expect the EP to be released on June 8th. Although this date is not set in stone, fans can surely expect brand new material from Crooked I this summer. At this time additional information regarding the project is not available. However, The B.O.S.S. Board will be sure to announce all details as they surface.
If you are interested in obtaining additional updates from Gracie Productions, please follow their official Twitter account. In the mean time, please keep it locked to The B.O.S.S. Board for further stories.

Should be interesting... Crook was in the booth the other night and recorded 8 songs so I assume they are mostly (if not all) for this project.
-
was the pig face release jus a digital release?
-
Although this date is not set in stone
Translation: this shit is gonna get pushed back alot.
-
since game isn't coming through lately with the exception of a couple songs on the red room, I'm really hoping Crooked could come through with some dope shit. Thats y favorite MC forsure right now

Im actually really glad they did that this time instead of promising 300 different dates.
-

They had signed hardcopies on some website. I had to get one, this was when it 1st dropped though.
-
pig face came out close to "on time" didn't it?
hopefully this one will be the same ...
-
That means his album ain't going to be released this year.. again.
-
Crooked I is never going to have an album is he...with this EP i think everyone who still had a hope of seeing a Crooked I album knows that its now over. Please store this post somewhere and bring it up in 2011. I bet there will be an exact thread...ie " New Crooked I EP dropping this June"
-
new Crooked I ep? Big fucking deal.
-
new Crooked I ep? Big fucking deal.
So it makes perfect sense that you still enter the thread & post in it.
-
Yes just so that I can write my comment. Drop an album already. Oh wait, it wouldn't sell 20K.

Umm you just made a thread "Crooked I should quit". We get it, you're not a fan of Crooked I.
Yet you still enter this thread.
-
I am not a fan of anyone. I like Crooked I's music, but he's never going to be as big as a Jay, 50, Pac, Snoop, Wayne or GAME.
And I think he doesn't want to be big like that anymore. He's well off & is making the music he wants to. Plus he's about to be on a major label when SH signs to Shady Records. And you're obviously a fan of Game. Nothing wrong with that.
-
lol....and the h missin on his arm?
Crooked I's career has gone from being the most anticipated artist from the west coast (Death Row-2003) to piggy-backing Shady Records for fame as part of a group. Epic fail.

Go to mixunit.com you'll find hard copies of a bunch of his mixtapes. I was looking for hard copies of G.Malone & remember seeing hard copies of the EP you want. Still couldn't find "Glasses Malone Presents Monster's InK" though.
Any idea where to get hard copies of the new Kurupt & Kokane mixtapes by any chance? Or "Tsunami" Vol.2?

When it comes to releasing music, Crooked I changes his mind too much. It seems like his agenda for releasing music changes almost daily. I'm not talking about the Death Row albums, because I realize those not coming out were out of his control. But here's a short list of examples of what I'm talking about:
"Mama's Boy" (Official Debut Album)
"Mama's Boy Got a Loaded Gun" (Official Debut Album)
"Young Boss Volumes 3 and 4 (Mentioned when he released "Respect Your OGs" during the beef with Snoop)
"Life After Death Row Soundtrack (Cancelled, Actual release came with Young Boss Volume 2)
"Boss Music" (Official Debut Album)
"No Country For Old Men"
"B.O.S.S." (Official Debut Album)
"B.O.S.S." (Free Download" (Announced December 23, 2008 on the track "Go Hard"))
1. First Official Leak: "I'm Still A MC", released March 17, 2009
2. Second Official Leak: "Go Hard or Go Home, released March 30, 2010 (wow, a whopping year and 13 days between songs)
3. Third Official Leak: "They" (wow, less than a month wait this time, I don't get it)
"Group Therapy" (with King Tech)
"Mr. Pig Face, Weapon Waist LP" (This one was originally announced as coming in January of this year (2010). Then, it was apparently cancelled. Then it was confirmed within the last couple of months as being back on, now...who knows.)
"Million Dollar Story" (Official Debut Album)
Taking all of this into consideration, I have to take any announcements or announcements of announcements about an upcoming EP with a grain of salt. If it does come out, great. I'll definitely support it. But until I actually see evidence of this coming out, I'm not holding my breath.

Lol. Damn. You're right. I really tried to remember all of them. But when it comes to Crook and his albums that have never come out, there are so many it's hard to think of them all.
-
So true JohnnyL!
Also there was supposed to be;
Million Dollar Mixtape (2007)
Tha Realest & Crooked I Collab album (7 tracks recorded, then Crook stopped)
Hip Hop Weekly "Remix Album" (remember Dynasty asking people what name they wanted mentioned in the booklet?)
Thats 3 more projects that never dropped.
-
ur fav rapper makes MORE promises than crooked and does not come thru crooked always puttin out free quality music
fuck an album crooked drop dope music for his fans and we get more from crooked than u do from ur wack fav rapper
suck a dick with that he always lyin shyt crooked i is tha fukn truth
-
Hmm,I only believe it when Im listening to it when it comes to crooked.Still waiting for an album.Love his music, but I want an album already.
-
crook will drop an album before "detox"
fukin fruits
-
Damn, I thought people would be souped to know there's a new project in the works... guess I was wrong. :-[
-
Thats what happens when you falsely announce ten years worth of projects.Nobody cares anymore about announcements from people who never follow through.

Crooked I probably is my favorite rapper of all the rappers currently making music. As an artist, there really aren't too many people who can fuck with him. But as a business man, I can't really see the sense in a lot of his decisions.
-

You honestly care that the retail album isn't in stores?
Come on, there's more than enough music out there for Crooked fans to enjoy.
-
Yes I do,Crooked is my favourite rapper, but until he proves he can make an actual album he will never be anything more then a mixtape rapper.
-
For me personally, I don't care if he ever has an album for sale at retail. It would be great if that happened, but if not, oh well. But what I would like is an album. It could be a free album, a pay digital download album, or a retail cd. Whatever. I'd just like an album length project with original production and album quality tracks. If he drops the rest of "B.O.S.S." I'd even be good with that. I think it would be better for him if he put it up for sale somehow, because then he's getting paid. But however it comes out, I just want a regular album.
Crooked I has hooked us up with a ton of free music. Which has been great. And I can't argue with the fact that probably no other rapper would do that. But it just doesn't make sense to me that he would start a dozen different projects and quit on them half way through, and then just sit on the music. He could be getting paid off all of that material. Why not put it out?
-

yet everyone on this forum nearly creams themselves when Dr Dre talks about a new single?
Crooked I has put out more music than your favorite rapper ... so who gives a fuck if he has a "retail album"
Dr Dre - Greatest producer of all time - 2 solo albums in 20 years - is that a good return? hmmm
think about it children ... be thankful Crooked puts music out .... one way or the other
-
Are you really comparing dr.dres output and crooked is?Thats a joke right?Crooked has been my favourite rapper for ten years, but come on dude he aint even in the same league as dre,hed probably tell you that himself.
And dre has produced and put out plenty of albums.

u said no one cares when artists falsely announce projects.
I merely pointed out Dre has done it many times and people certainly still care.
you can compare anyone on an output basis. why not?
Dre has put out 2 solo albums in 20 years ... that is a terrible return.
I'm not talking about who is in what league...
Just saying having a retail album doesn't make u a better rapper.
-
The difference is dr.dre is a legend with two of the best hip hop albums ever made and crooked i has zero albums.
And having a retail album is when people actually take an artist seriously.
-

what crap. tell me which "people" take u serious when u have a retail album?
Does having a retail album change your ability to write a track?
How does a retail album influence the way that u flow over the top of a beat?
it doesn't.
Bottom line is Crooked I is a talented rapper.
I don't need a retail album of his to go Gold or Platinum to tell me that.
As a fan of an artist I would rather a year of getting at least one track a week than 14 tracks every three years on a retail album. Do u see my point yet?
-
What people?Try any music critic ever and 90 percent of fans.Tell me one rapper thats consider a goat with no albums?Crooked is a great rapper but until he drops albums he will never be considered anything more then a mixtape rapper, that isnt debateable that is fact. You think nas would be considered a great if he hadnt dropped illmatic but instead dropped a bunch of freestyles for free?
-
Crooked's last EP got a big F from me. I'll cop this if it comes out and is good enough to spend my money on, but I won't lose any sleep over it if it doesn't come out. There's plenty of good (free) Crooked I music out there to enjoy.
-
Crooked needs to drop "Im Still An Mc OG" as a bonus Song for this upcoming EP.

That would be cool. It'd be tight if he'd drop the "Blammers and Burners" track that he did with Tech N9ne too.

He should just leak it, I'd be pissed if that was on the EP.
The lyrics to that song are almost a year and a half old.

I'm just not sure why he keeps limiting each of his offiicial releases to being EP length. He's got so much unreleased material from over the years, he could pick and choose his favorite tracks and easily have enough tracks to put out an album tomorrow, if he wanted. And have tons of material left over. Personally, I don't care too much what material he puts on this E.P, specifically as long as it's material we haven't heard. I mean, there are a few specific tracks that stick out in my mind that I'd love to hear, but really I don't care too much what it is, as long as it's something I haven't heard.

I said Crooked I was talented, not one of the greatest of all time.
if u want come up with your opinions on music based on "critics and fans" ... I wish u all the best.
when I rank where Crooked I sits as a talent, I'll base it on ... well, talent. Not number of albums.

I just listen to what I consider to be good music. I don't care if Crooked drops 20 more mixtapes or a retail album, I think he's one of the nicest to do it. He's dropped more than enough quality SONGS (not freestyles) to prove his ability. If others agree or not, I really don't care.
Just enjoy the music guys, there's no reason to get caught up in what he is labeled as...

You were the one comparing him to dr.dre.Like I said hes been my favourite rapper for ten years but I have allusion of what he is.And if you think not having an album doest matter, your delusional.
-
You were the one comparing him to dr.dre.Like I said hes been my favourite rapper for ten years but I have allusion of what he is.And if you think not having an album doest matter, your delusional.
I was comparing his output to Dr Dre. Not him as an artist. Don't get it twisted.
And recently, Crooked I has put out more music than the good doctor. thats just fact.
if u think having an album does matter, then you are the one who is delusional.
Based on your theory, Vanilla Ice is a better artist that people take more serious because he has put out albums. So when we make a 'Greatest Rappers' list, Vanilla Ice will be before Crooked I because he has an album right?
Yet we both know that is bullshit. I'm done putting my point across, if u don't get it, you don't get it. all good.
-
You just dont get it do you?Crooked I could release a twenty thousand free freestyles and it wouldnt have the same impact that a nuthing but a g thang has.Dre has nothing to prove, and his two albums shadow over almost every single hip hop artists careers. It was a retarded comparison.
Now your just being an idiot. You dont have a point your just using flawed logic to defend Crooked I not having an album.
-
Let's be honest, if Crooked I actually dropped a full length album it would probably just be 20 freestyles over original beats, all about how gangsta he is. People would say its okay, but that's it? I don't see him as the type of rapper who can drop a classic album. He's great at what he does, which is pre-written freestyles, but that doesn't make him great in the scope of hip hop music.
I consider A Tribe Called Quest to be one of the greatest hip hop groups of all time, but the fact is that Q-Tip and Phife didn't have mind blowing rhymes. Why are they one of the greatest? Because they consistently put out great albums.
-
Well Im going to have to disagree,I think he has it in him to make a classic.Songs like if you ever hear me,my life one and two etc,I could go on,but hes put out many great songs, not just freestyles.
-
If there is a cd copy i will buy, but in all honesty i dont understand the logic behind this.
Crooked has had people waiting on an album for an age and the free music is great and ep is cool but all people want is an album. I dont think this ep is going to propel him sales wise of thats what he is hoping for.
-
mixtapes and internet songs are a cop out, basically a way to put out music without having to worry about it being critiqed. Albums are judged on an entirely different level. Dropping an EP is raising the bar a little, but its still not going to be judged on the same level as an album. Come to think of it, that Pig Faced Weapon Waist should have been a classic because its a lot easier to make 6 hot songs at once than 15. If he ever drops an album I'm expecting it to be on the same level as his EP, maybe even lower because it'll have to worry about consistency.
-
And this will be his 3rd lp.I dont understand the logic of releasing 3 eps.
-

I have made my points and they are crystal clear. They are practically in bullet point form too. Just because you either don't understand them or disagree with them doesn't mean I'm the idiot ok champ? like i wrote, I could continue but with u it is a lost cause, u don't understand or u disagree, so again, its all good.
-
Jayce talking real talk Crooked I's biggest buzz was with Suge and Death Row in 03
That isn't true, although Death Row was a great starting point.
At least now Crooked I has toured the country several times, Canada and Europe with Slaughterhouse. Achieved decent radio play and gets music video rotation on MTV2.
He's worked with bigger name producers and bigger artists since those days.
The buzz was nice on Death Row, but all in all, he's must more well known in 2010.
As far as this EP goes, I don't think he's trying to sell 100,000 copies of it, I just think he's doing this to keep the buzz going and give the fans some good music. What's wrong with that?
