Title: External Hard Drives
Post by: Mo Z. Dizzle on May 15, 2010, 02:52:17 PM
what's a good brand to buy?
I'll mainly need it for music, pictures, and Word documents.

I've been looking at this one:

I just want to make sure I don't get something that screws up later.
My pictures and Word docs I'll have backed up on photobucket and Google docs anyways, so those I won't have to worry about.
But getting my music back will be a pain.

Aren't there companies who store your shit online?
That sounds better since external harddrives will break easily.

that sounds like a good idea....i think, but costly.....

external hard drives are dirt cheap these days, I'd go for 1TB.

I would never trust my files to a third party. There is so much that can go wrong on their end.

Only thing I need a constant back up off is my music and why should i give a shit if a third party can see what I listen to

I'll be using third parties for certain things.
But I wanna have a safety net, especially with my pc crashing twice in less than 2 years.

I looked on the Canadian Costco site for that; nothing there.

Looks like I'm going to order that one I posted. I wanna go pick it up and avoid the delivery charge, but I'm crapping my guts out so it doesn't seem like I have a choice right now  :-\

I wouldn't need a 1TB though. I don't watch too many TV shows/movies on my pc.
Mainly just need it for a music backup.
