In February, Manny Pacquiao ignored a Floyd Mayweather compromise that would have had their blood testing impasse met in the middle at 14 days prior to fight night. Now, after both men have won subsequent fights against Top 10 welterweights, Pacquiao has confirmed he would be willing to agree to the offer.
“14 days is ok with me, as long as [the blood test] isn’t done on the day of the fight, and only the right amount of blood will be drawn from me,” Pacquiao detailed to the Filipino press.
The quote is Pacquiao’s first statement on a potential Mayweather bout since his post-fight interview in March after defeating Joshua Clottey. At the time, Pacquiao refused to budge on Mayweather’s Olympic style drug testing demand, but stated his goal to fight the winner of Mayweather-Mosley.
Last month, Mayweather silenced critics by outclassing Shane Mosley to a blowout decision win. After that fight, Mayweather said the 14 day offer was now off the table, reiterating his stance from February after Pacquiao walked away from the negotiating table rather than compromise further on the testing. Before talks ended, Pacquiao’s final offer had been random testing no more the 24 days before the fight.
Despite several articles reporting otherwise, neither Floyd Mayweather nor his camp have released any statements since Pacquiao’s new stance on the testing. A few weeks ago, Pacquiao promoter and Top Rank CEO Bob Arum said that both sides will discuss business in private to prevent the media circus and pandering that helped sink the previous negotiation.
If terms are met, the fight will be the most lucrative in boxing history with a November target date.
Since the last negotiations, Manny Pacquiao has won a congressional seat in his native Phillipines, which he assured fans will not interfere with his training. Pacquiao will be sworn in on June 30.

Agreed, it should of happened by now

Hopefully Manny doesnt have it in his head that this blood thing will really effect him for the fight. Psycologically it could hurt him. But this shit needs to happen now. There is part of me that always thought there was much more behind delaying this fight...other than drug testing. I think they wanted extra time to promote it. Think about it, it seemed like the first time the fight would have been rushed to happen since Pacquiao was running for office. This gave them both a chance to win another fight....and even more time to build anticipation. There is too much money on the table for something like the drug testing to have stood in the way. Especially when Manny has never tested positive for anything, and there is no real basis for the accusations from Floyd.

This fight ain't going to happen cause Floyd ain't gonna accept the 50/50 cash split..

He is an idiot if he doesnt. Floyd is a huge draw, but Manny is the biggest international draw in the sport. Manny is recognized as the pound for pound #1 fighter in the world. This will be the biggest payday of either fighters career...whether its a 50/50 splits...or a 60/40 split.
-
I think he will... I've said this before, but I think Floyd wants to prove something with this fight, he wants it to happen. Whether he has to take an earning cut or not..
-
Yeah all that shit was some publicity bullshit. Fucc that fake ass shit...just get your muthafuccin asses in the ring and fight!! 50/50 split..of what? 100 million + tv money?? I'd rape my grandmother for that kind of money.

What the fuck........
Floyd Mayweather conducted an interview after participating in a Make a Wish Foundation event, where he met with 17 year old Armando Carral who suffers from Hodgkin’s disease.
“Floyd Mayweather is taking a year off or a couple of years off from boxing. I don’t really know what the future holds for him,” Mayweather said while sitting next to Carral, who expressed that he wants to see his favorite fighter take on Pacquiao next. “As I said, I want to take a year off from boxing. I’m taking a couple years off… away from the sport of boxing. I want to devote my time to my boxing gym.”
Many in the press are already speculating that the reason for Mayweather’s abrupt comments were due to him being upset with Manny Pacquiao receiving Fighter of the Decade honors from the Boxing Writer’s Association of America on Friday (June 5).
Top Rank and Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum, learning from his wild media comments in February that helped sink the first Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations, was more reserved in his response to the Mayweather interview.
"I'm telling you now, I've had long conversations with him, Manny Pacquiao's first goal is to get Mayweather in the ring and this whole drug-testing nonsense . I think it was nonsense, but Manny has now agreed," Arum said prior to Cotto-Foreman last night."He's agreed so now that's not an issue. So now the ball's in Mayweather's court and if Mayweather doesn't fight him, that's Mayweather's decision and he has every right to make that decision. If I was Mayweather I wouldn't want to fight Pacquiao either…I live there [Las Vegas] and I've no problem with the fight being in Vegas, and I know Manny has no problem either.”

It's a bluff, in order to get more negotiation pull. If it's not, fuck this guy lol

I know. I hope this is more posturing and to build a buzz.
"Build it up, let 'em down. Build it up higher, let 'em down again. Fans have emotions."

yeah of course it's real, there was an actual video of it lmao
The balls of these reporters though, I mean Mayweather is there granting a dying kid a wish and these mother fuckers are asking about Pac.

I was thinking, this might be their last fight, for both fighters.. If Mayweather wins, he will definitely retire, as he will want to go out perfect and having answered all the haters and facing the biggest challenge the fan could ask of him.. But what if he loses, there's 1 big L in his column now. He will def try to get a rematch. But his record is now marred, I don't know what he will do.. Will he now challenge bigger-primed boxers and stop picking-and-choosing to try to regain a rep? Or will he just leave the sport with his last match being his first lost? lol. Kinda perplexing..
I can see Manny retiring in either case. He got his last fight and proved to himself he could beat the best, or if he loses he is a humble enough dude to say he gave it his all and move on to his political endeavors...

It also depends how the fight ends up. Obviously any close fight will easily lead to a rematch, but both fighters at the top of their game show dominance. I feel that either way we're going to see a convincing win

lol, if I watched the right video (was titled "Mayweather denies dying kid his last wish to fight Manny" lol?) they were at a boxing ring and kid looked like he was enjoying watch Mayweather talk to the media. It's cool.

Yeah, there is no favorite here, it's gonna be judged pretty unbiased. I think Mayweather will retire if he wins pretty convincingly, don't see him coming back for a rematch.. You know how he is...
