My own computer broke beyond repair, had it for a year, it's been send away for repair more then I had it here.
My old computer still works but it's so old that no new monitor could work on it.
My External Harddisk apparently only worked with my old computer
And I would've saved it to my ipod except that thing also broke allot recently and I figured it would be safer to not make a copy onto it.

I have like 1/8th of my music on cd.
I could rip them but that wmp would convert them to wma, that means I'd have to convert all of to mp3.

Yup
50 GB with an average download speed of 100 kb/s divided over about 10 torrents means the downloading would take 14 hours and that's without calculating in rarities.
THe music is still on my ipod but as far as I know you can't import music from it.

On the Windows Media Player thing, just go into the Options and change the rip default format, MP3 is in there. Also set it to 320 because it's normally locked standard at 120 or something.

weren't you trying to buy an external hard drive too? bad timing.

you can put music from your ipod to your computer, you just have to plug in the ipod and find the folder where its located. Apple tries to hide that from you, and the files are in a different order and renamed. But once you find the music and import it onto your computer you can import it into itunes and it will regenerate your music folder. Instead of me explaining everything you can just google an answer. Also, make sure itunes doesn't load while the ipod is in or it will try to reformat the ipod.

before you import them into itunes make sure the "keep music folder organized" and the " copy music to itunes folder" boxes are checked. that way you wont have to do any sorting
-
It's copying from ipod to computer at a stunning speed of 1mb/s....
Where my 5 year old computer took 1 hour to copy, this new one is taking 17 goddamn hours.
That can't be right...
-
that cant be right, you got it hooked right to the pc or through a hub or something?
-
