The Lakers starting 5 is just deadly. With West, Worthy, and Shaq coming off the bench, nobody is fuckin' with them. 8)

I think what helps Boston is that for as great as that 80's team was, most of them would come off the bench. Both franchises have DEPTH! Lakers might win on size.

Lakers are clearly better, I mean Russell was the shit but come on now with Jabbar, Wilt and Shaq it's just not fair
-
I don't know though, should I have included Kevin Garnett.

this thread has definitely been made lol.

Kobe is starting over West? :-\

lol Garnett is a show in for HOF. Are you seriously gonna tell me that James Worthy was a a better player throughout his career then KG was? And Ray Allen is one of the best shooters the leagues ever seen. You could argue against Allen making the list, but not KG. The ONLY argument I can make for KG not being on this list...is the fact that the prime of his career was in Minnesota.

exactly my point, kg is a great hall of famer but he hasnt been a celtic long enough to be on that list, same goes for ray ray....

With the way Garnett playing today, I don't have a good feeling including him in a CELTICS all-time team. In a "team of the decade", maybe, Celtics - no.

yeah I can respect that. You wouldnt include Karl Malone as an all time great Laker.

I was thinking that. Though if Boston wins this series, and KG comes back big, you could make an argument. But I saw plenty of KG in person over the years, and the KG now is not as great as the Minnesota KG, but his a damn good player. I added Pierce on Boston and Kobe on LA as the only current players, both have earned their spot among the greats in their franchise.

Only way you may be able to see is through whatifsports.com
I don't know if anybody's ever used that site though.

I gave Orlando Shaq... hahaha
the starters was not a bad match up, but the bench was just awful. I was bored and I thought why not.

kg easily replaces sam jones i mean come on now,i hate that muthafucca but he's one of the best 4's ever,
but the lakers take that shit easily, hell the comment van gundy made last night was so true, if derek fisher was a celtic when he retires his number would be retired, but as a laker that shit ain't gonna happen, the lakers only put up true stars, not just good players, hell if jamal wilkes was a celtic his number would be up in they rafters as well as micheal cooper and robert horry, hell nicc van exell would probably be up in the rafters lol yell

KG's prime was about 1998-2006, his years in Boston have been 2008-now. So his still a beast, but washed up KG is not greater than those legends up there. Though if KG was a Celtic his whole career, his over Cowens easy as the starting PF, though Cowens was a center who rotated to PF.
(BTW, Cowens has to be the most underrated Celtic ever. He lead the Celtics to 2 NBA titles in the 70's, but since he wasn't part of any wars, his MVP season, which the Celtics almost broke the Lakers record almost as soon as LA gained it by winning 68 games in 1973, is largely forgotten now. The next year he helped the Celtics win the NBA title by battling Kareem Abdul Jabber of all people when the Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks. Highly underrated Celtic, though in a franchise of legends, it's easy to understand.)
