looking FIERCE through two lol.
i was tight after the single to right, but i think it'll only make him throw better; takes some heat off him.
that "slurve" is from another planet! :o

he's not even the best young pitcher in MLB tonight. Phil Hughes >>>
-
its not national is it? the game, no pun intended? id rather watch him then phils...

Mlb.com is showing when he's pitching. Quality is pretty garbage but it's better than nothing.
He's looking really nasty. It's the first time I've seen him pitch in a game and not just the highlights. Every fastball is 97mph+ and lots of them have nice movement.
Stupid pitch count will see him out early. He should pitch the complete game if he's doing well.

way to bust it out of the box, champ. :D

OUCH. :-X

the reason there is so much fantastic young pitching is because all the young hitters aren't on roids anymore
and roids are more beneficial for hitters than pitchers (but DO help both)

11 Ks 0 BB in 6 IP :o

na, it's the banning of amphetamine; hitters aren't as alert.
pitchers have to work one every five days, they can focus for that one game; likely seven innings (give or take).
hitters day in, day out fatigue & get tired & lose focus; especially later in a game; the fact they don't have that "pick-me-up" is giving pitchers the advantage. i think anyway.

he was falling behind hitters; as long as he doesn't live on that, he'll be great.
the thing that's so amazing is that he has three put away pitches; if he gets the right chemistry with Bryce Harper in a few years, it could be unbeatable.

holy shit. :o
how do you take a guy like that out? :-X
he's on fire; what a debut & in line for the win.
it was the Pirates; still a fantastic night for anybody though; i think his next start is against the Indians, still no powerhouse of an offense; but i hope to see him repeat tonights performance.

so the generation of barry bonds type of frauds has died out? how so? do they have better doping testing now or what?

Well when Barry was breaking the record there really was no testing. There's probably still ways to dodge the test but the power numbers have certainly dropped a bunch since they did start testing.

yeah, no doubt.
if somebody ever hits more than 55 homeruns in a season, people are going to raise eyebrows.
