Serious beat by Vegas. Crazy hook ill spitting from Spi, East and Crook. This one could have been a potential smash hit. West Coast vibe, something you can cruise to.

G Funking it, reminds of Daz/DPG "What would you do". Serious bassline on this one. Crooked I kills it lyrically again. This one is West Coast to the fullest!

Nothing special about this one, Crooked I lyrical again, but you know the other 4 first tracks he is super lyrical. Beat is not special.

Sounds real 80's ish, classic west coast banger. This one could be a smash hit if released. Lyrics on point. The 3 collaborate well. Reminds me of "put the monkey in it" by Daz and Soopa

Not impressed with this version. The kicks and snares dont bang hard as the OG version. Sisqo did his thing and Juve the great offcourse never dissapoints.

Good track, good lyrics, beat is classic, flawless track.
Overall, Ill give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars, some of the beats could have been changed, overall Crook showed his versatility without forgetting his roots. Most def about 5 or 6 potential singles of this shit.

Nice review. Although I wont get around to supporting this tilll the end of the summer. Will eventually buy a copy to support Crooked (even if he doesnt support it - they did this in a few months where hes taking how many years?)

Kurupt was at FYE but I had no interest in it. Danny Boy's album was exactly nowhere. I just ordered it and Hoodstar off Amazon.
The lack of availability might have something to do with Lavi leaving. Snoop's shit was available in Best Buy with as an "exclusive limited edition" and Re-Lit was big enough to get in the weekly ads with its own place on the new release end cap but since the year started, Best Buy don't even carry the albums outside of through special orders.

I never actually heard the album (only downloaded a few tracks) so am considering copping it. Key questions is though, what's the quality like? I remember being dissapointed with Lost Sessions cos the mixing was so shit on that project, what's this like?

Well there were two leaked versions of "Say Hi to the Bad Guy," the FTP version and the LSN version. But between the two of them, they had every song on them that is on "Hood Star" except "Go Hard," and the itunes bonus track, "Ghetto Love." However, the versions of "Fuck With You" and "Me and My Dogg" that appear on "Hood Star" are also different versions than the ones on the FTP version or the LSN version. The Hood Star version of "Me and My Dogg" sounds like it may have been a different take. It also features Danny Boy and K-Ci whereas the FTP version featured Ray J and the LSN version featured Ray J and K-Ci. There was no "Fuck With You" on the FTP version of "Say Hi to the Bad Guy." The one on the LSN version features Gail Gotti. The "Hood Star" version is Crooked I solo, so it has an extra Crooked I verse. So far, those are the only differences I'm aware of, aside from sound quality, which is all over the place on all of them.

The version of "West Coast (aka Suge's West Coast)" is different on the FTP version. The FTP version features Ray J, the LSN version is another singer.
The version of "House Party" on Hood Star is the FTP version and the version on LSN is mixed differently and has a slightly different vocal arrangement.
