where is the blame falling these days? we gotta new story?
i'll list only a few to get ya'll going - no point killing the thread before its started
hittman - dropped by parent label (dirty politics?)
ras kass - delayed and renamed due to bootlegging
shade sheiest - now released but heavily delayed after smash single (dirty politics?
knoc turnal - released in a mutilated ep form, delayed (dirty politics again?)
return of the regulator - blamed on lack of promotion from the label
maybe we can see whats wrong with the world here :)

i think shade just got delayed because he had to work out a new deal, there wasnt really anything dirty going on. The only shady thing about sheist is the accusation that damian young (damizza) was giving him an unfair amount of spins on power, and anyone from LA will tell you the dude gets waaay too many spins.
i wont comment on the others, but to be honest i think shade and warren did poorly because they were bad albums. Sure a lot of people on this board liked them but the general hip hop consensus was that they were tired cliche'd albums. You cant really blame Universal for Warren's bad sales. Most artists would kill to be on that label, have ads at every store, great distribution, and a high-budget video.

imo what the west coast needs is their own major that will be willing to put money down to promote acts, once there is that main label, which could help distribute other labels (Tha Row, Doggystyle, Bungalo, LA Confidential), the west coast would b successful

Bone thugs new album - No Promotion.
Saafir's albums - No promotion
Liks - Lack of propmotion and no follow up vid to "Best u Can"

I think promotion is def a problem, knocturnal was hot and was in the public eye when bad intentions came out. the album should have dropped then.

Its all about timing and yes.. promotion.
