Title: Ya'll are so naive for thinking these leaked records are ''unfinished''
Post by: Prof@ssor on June 17, 2010, 10:09:55 AM
Seriously that shit makes me laugh every time i read it.

Take a look at these Dr. Dre records for example, all of them are already finished, mastered, mixed etc...but, I truly believe, they downgrade the quality ON PURPOSE to make you believe it's unfinished.
Many people already heard ''Ester Dean'' on the chorus, and Dre has been working on this record since february or march, you actually think he still hasn't finished the song? And if he didn't why would he release it?!

Face it people it's all to test the waters. It's called marketing, and most of you eat that shit.

That's bullshit. Why would you leak some unfinished shit to test the waters? That's like jackin off in front of a girl to show her you can fuck good. Knock it off with the conspiracy theories.

i cant agree ... Whats the purpose of leaking an unfinished track ? I dont see whats the marketing reason. I believe dre is still working on it

whenever he started it, he can take a pause, work on other tracks then come back to this one...

i believe in marketing, many of em bein really tricky, but what u wrote its (no ofense) bullshit.. if he would want to see a reaction, he would leak more advanced track, not that much unfinished version.. i feel interscope/dre/dre and jimmy bein not really honest with us, but its not how u explained that, totally

99.9% of all leaked songs are leaked on purpose. I never believed the supposed Detox reference joints were any different.

I don't believe Dre intentionally leaks "downgraded" tracks.  If anything, Dre fusses over a track forever and ever until it's perfect, then half the time decides to scrap the song anyway.  That's why it takes so long for a Dr. Dre album to come out.  But I don't think he would "downgrade" a song.  Dre's too particular about how a song sounds.  He wouldn't want people to hear a Dr. Dre song, intentionally made worse.  Just my opinion.

I think the leaks are completely intentional to test the waters with the music.

i can agree wit the leakes bein leaked specially, but why would they be 'downgraded' or unfinished? doesnt make sense at all

i think the track was finished bar the hook ...

the verses were complete and the beat was finished ... they just were going to add the hook

but both Dre & Jay Z would need to redo their vocals after hearing the Crooked I version

he showed them how they should be riding that beat ... properly.

it creates hype, especially after 10 years of silence.
Then you can complain about it leaking, which is promo.

And you can see how it's received, people can help you make it better.
If fans like it, create buzz over release.
If fans don't like it, no problem just an unfinished leak.

yes, but there ACTUALLY is a diffrence between finished and unfinished track, so if some1 wants a serious opinion, he would leak final version, or the one like 'crack a bottle' which was unfinished, but very close to the final one

u disagree with what exactly?

that the track was practically finished or that Crooked I rode that beat better than Dre & Jigga?

Bias? I really don't get your post...

yeah, but i still don't think Dre liked the fact that the version with Eminem rapping his part, was uploaded on the internet.
he was probably happy that it became popular though

They are leaked intentionally, true, but it's to support Dre's headphones and Recovery, not to "test the waters."

For making good income out of Eminem, he really should encourage anything that could help the sale of Recovery at this uncertain time in a failing music industry. The higher the sale, not only means more money, but also means confidence in the label, and a wave of supporters, and business opportunities further down the line. When these records flop, Aftermath takes a hit for it

Aftermath is failing bcuz of the way Dr. Dre is handling Detox.  It has nothing to do with Eminem (besides Relapse) or Bishop Lamont or anything, it's strickly bcuz of Dr. Dre.  U might call that a shallow thought but 7 years later and a gang of misrepresentation and misleading is bound to fuck up your company PR.  Even if this wasn't a techno track it would still be a fail due to tha fact that we waited so long for something so simple as a song.  It's really either now or never for Dr. Dre and Aftermath.  Dre should've just dropped Detox out of the blue and could'nt nobody had said shit about it.

Dre supposedly has a vault full of dope material that will never see the light of day. Now why out of all the shit he could leak would he choose to leak a half ass unfinished song that most people aren't feeling? If it was an attempt at promotion its an extremely terrible attempt considering 90% of the people who heard it are disappointed. Here's an idea for promotion....leak something good.

You should change your name because you get an F in your theory. One, we all know Dre is a perfectionist. We don't know exactly how long Dre has been working on individual songs and if this was the original one that had been announced. And in case you were also addressing the tracks that were released through the past year or two; none of those actually had Dre on them and it is common for artist to "Demo" songs for the performing artist to get a feel for.

I think some of you must be on crack with these theories. They are intentionally leaking reference tracks to sell headphones and create hype? How does that work? The reception to just about everything has been lukewarm at best. So they take a song that's done and downgrade the quality on purpose? Why? There's probably hundreds of easier ways to test the waters than that.

Dre knew he had way too high of expectations to meet, and he really would never be able to do it.  So now he throws out some mediocre bullshit like this and instantly everyone is disappointed.  Now when the actual album drops it will be much better than this, and people will be pleasantly surprised because they were afraid it might be this garbage.
