Post by: EM28 on December 11, 2002, 08:46:13 PM
I want both but I have a choice to get one between these two albums.  Which one would y'all get.  My mom said one right now between these two.

Get Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), it's a hip-hop classic.

Next time post this in Outbound Connections.

Pick up the 36 Chambers first, start at the beginning  ;) Then, when you get the money pick up Wu Tang Forever, it's defo worth copping too.

Illmatic is the greatest.  After that 36 Chambers is the 2nd greatest East Coast album of all time.  The album is tremendous.  It's totally creative and grassroots.  What's beautiful about the 36 Chambers record is that the Wu wasn't trying to sound like anything or anyone, they just brought out whatever was in them and put it on record, and they happened to have the right chemistry so it works.

It's funny ya'll mention 36 Chambers I've been bumpin it all week.  It will be a classic album for decades to come.

There both good albums, their actually the only 2 Wu-Tang cds I have, but yer like the majority go and buy 36 Chambers. This was the first hip hop album I eva got and was the cd that got me into listening to hip hop. It's got the classic track C.R.E.A.M, other fav. of mine on the album Protect Ya Neck, Bring da Ruckus, Can It Be All So Simple. Definatly worth buying.

Hmm...I'm gonna go as far as to say that any albums that were released prior to 1993 from any East Coast artist is incomparable to this album. However i still believe though that 'Illmatic' was the best but that was released a year later.

Illmatic has that title.

Anyway, 36 Chambers is a classic, no doubt. It will probably go down as Wu's best album for historical reasons, but my personal preference would be Wu Forever, because its better lyrically and more refined musically.

However, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is better than EITHER of them. That is easily one of my top 5 albums ever.

personally, for me, the greatest eastcoast album is "Ready To Die" and nothing else.
