Title: Best track from Relapse/Refill/Recovery inc. Bonus?
Post by: Matty on June 22, 2010, 06:44:01 PM
Not really a big Eminem fan, but a few tracks from all his recent material have some good replay value and are extremely tight. Wondered what people thought was the very best joint. i chose 'Ridaz' - already better than anything else from Relapse/Refill/Recovery to me. 3/4 options are bonus tracks but are definitely the ones i thought were the best. i know some others will come up.

Beautiful,

It's the Eminem I enjoy listening to the most.  Raw, truthful, honest.

Runner-up: Deja Vu

There's a couple tracks that have amazing hooks but failed to deliver on the verses,

1. Stay Wide Awake
2. Elevator (again, like Beautiful, reminds me of the Eminem I enjoy listening to but the verses were subpar.)

So far I haven't enjoyed Recovery.  Maybe i'm not in the right mood

forgot to say honourable mentions to 'Bagpipes From Baghdad' and 'Must Be The Ganja' just on the beats alone 8)

The only joint i probably check on relapse is stay wide awake and possibly bagpipes both for the beat nuthin else and neither joint be higher than a 4/5 joint if u being nice.

Probably the joint im diggin the most right now is the lil wayne em collabo on relapse, no love. Eminem straight tore it up on his verse especially the further he went into it and i like lil waynes verse, he went gully on it. Not fuckin with eminems flow but i liked some of the lines. And its just good music, well constructed, u can tell it took effort to make that joint from everyone including the producer.

It's hard to pick one.

Top 5 (no order)?

1. Stay Wide Awake
2. Deja Vu
3. My Darling
4. Spacebound
5. 25 To Life

for me it's a really tie between :

- Underground (orchestra, sound effects, violin, etc...crazzzy joint)   8)

- Same Song and Dance (hypnotic production, very polished)  8)

- Ridaz   :o

- Deja Vu (If the guitar sound at the end was more present through the whole song it would be the best of them)  :-\

I like "25 To Life". Seems like he put a lot of emotion into that track. I like Recovery and there are a lot of other tracks that stand out as well.

Voted for Deja Vu, although there are are quite a few other ones that I would rate pretty high.

Same Song And Dance - That production is eerie and i love it.

Ridaz, De Ja Vu, So Bad, My Darling and Seduction are couple more of my favourites.

Ridaz/Deja Vu for me.

"Stay Wide Awake" is fucking sick though, I'm really feeling "No Love" atm as well, Just killed it with that cheesy sample

I'm thinking I would've liked Relapse 2 the most aka Relapse Refill, because judging by the tracks from Refill it would've had the same production and story horror vibe as Relapse but with the accent tone down. Don't get me wrong Recovery is great and still gets regular play but it just feels a little empty and more thrown together.

So my best cd would be (was too lazy to bother with the sequencing)

1. 3 Am
2. My Mom
3. Hello
4. Same Song And Dance
5. Stay Wide Awake
6. Old Time's Sake
7. Must Be The Ganja
8. Deja Vu
9. Beautiful
10. Underground
11. Careful What You Wish For
12. My Darling
13. Hell Breaks Loose
14. Buffalo Bill
15. Elevator
16. Music Box
17. Drop The Bomb
18. So Bad
19. Ridaz

dog, I deleted my thread here, did you recover it?

I deleted it because it was before I found the actual Relapse Discussion Thread.   I was having trouble finding it so I bumped this thread, but then deleted when I found the actual Relapse thread.

I don’t know Sccit, doesn’t seem like folks were too into Relapse.  There are barely even any threads on it

you trying too hard

here's the discussion thread for relapse:

feedback for the album in real time

So far very happy with the tracks.....My Mom is that shit..I am loving that track!!

gotta say I'm impressed by the quality of the poductions I heard so far.

favorite joint so far is undeground.  :o :o :o

Dre is back on the cinematic shit

I still got a few joints to get through, but Insane is just that. Dre laced some shit...

The production is phenomenal.  Not all of it makes you grab for the sky but none of it is bad.  Well defined and flows

woah, this "My Mom" beat is THE SHIT :o  but WOW this hook is AWFUL..

Need to listen to this a few more times to get a feel for it, but the production is on point 8)

Stay wide awake beat is the shit...damn 8)

that "My Mom" beat is just BUMPING! 8)
