Title: No Hitter Alert.
Post by: Chamillitary Click on June 25, 2010, 06:45:12 PM
Edwin Jackson needs three more outs to no hit his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays.

It's the year of the pitcher. :o

Seven walks too.

I hope he gets it; I like how it's a 1-0 game too.

Harold Reynolds said it nicely, "If this was 10-15 years ago, nobody would of said anything about 'pitches counts'".

But I guess it is "impressive" for 2010.

It's impressive to walk 8 and not give up a run and get a no no though, no matter the pitch count.

I mean an impressive amount of pitches.

It was really impressive considering those circumstances; when you walk 8, you're probably behind most hitters throughout the game. Batters likely got good looks on 2-0, 2-1 counts & couldn't get a hit.

Congrats to Jackson :). I think he's the 4th pitcher to get a no-hitter (technically the 5th) this year.
