Grammy-winning rapper Eminem is reportedly set to rebuild his Shady Records label by finding new talent to sign.

According to Em's manager, Paul Rosenberg, Em is focused on giving his label a facelift.
"I think he's really focused on the creative side. He's never been someone who's set out to have a bunch of different companies out there, sort of playing the system. He's just not that kind of guy." The one project Eminem and Rosenberg are focused on is the rebuilding of their label, Shady Records. "What we mean by that is finding great new artists," Rosenberg says. "That's one of the things he is passionate about." Eminem has cited underground all-star group Slaughterhouse as his first planned signing, and he says more artists are on the table but not ready to be announced. (billboard)

Remember when there was that poster for daz on shady !
If he is rebuilding shady records id like to see an unreleased Proof album come out, its not going to seel huge but would be nice for the fans.

Shady needs some diversity over there.
He needs a "B.o.B.-type" artist.
-
I HOPE HE SIGNS DAZ AND SLY BOOGY AND ROCCET AND PROBLEM
-
i'd like to see hopsin over there, he could also provide spots for em to feature on to do his old style over without having to commit to doing a whole album like that again since he's "recovered" in all haha yell
-
HE SHOULD SIGN DA TWINZ, WARREN G & DOVE SHACK
-
No more d12...more of sh type shit...hes signed b4 and nuthin has happened sign dope artists not jus some commercial shit

Hopsin is a dream sign; it's almost not realistic lol.

I'm down with doing the non-commercial type music, but to me D12 wasn't really all that commercial. I will admit though that they did have a few commercial tracks. But I think part of the reason they weren't more successful is that they were never completely successful at making the transition into commercial music. I don't mean that as a criticism either, as I really don't care if they ever make any more commercial sounding music. To me, probably their two most commercial tracks were "Purple Pills" and "My Band." And even "Purple Pills" wasn't all that radio friendly. They had to change it to "Purple Hills" to even be able to release it as a single. lol

True but none of em are dope rappers sign a dope rapper like planet asia or vinnie paz...and dont touch the production slim... and canibus haha

Proof was dope. Kuniva & Swift are not bad at all. They just got overlooked because they did some "goofy" music.
And I hope Eminem doesn't sign Redman. But that's just me. And I love Redman's old stuff & own almost all his albums.
-
yeah i dont care for redman that much but it is what it is...seems like a few heads want this em/red thing to happen

Agreed. Proof was definitely a dope rapper. Aside from Em and Proof, I would have to say that Swifty McVay is the next best. He's had some tight verses, especially on Devil's Night. Actually, in general I can't fault Em for the past acts that have been signed to Shady Records. At the very least, the majority of them had talent. It's just that many of them didn't drop albums. I would say a lot of that had more to do with problems with the label rather than a lack of talent.

I rather listen 2 proof than anyone n d12 includin the white man...mr porter's aite but proofs better than all of em

Lol. Well, we can at least agree when it comes to Proof. I don't know if I think he was better than Em, but I definitely think he could hold his own without Em. In fact, I still listen to his solo stuff, especially that "Electric Kool Aid Acid Testing" e.p.
-
Imo it has 2 do wit alot of things...ems race, him bein the leader, dres connection etc...proofs talent was sheilded by em and d12 and im not a huge proof but his style was dope
-
I hope Em hasn't forgotten about Ca$his. With the right strategy he could sell big units (it's worked before).
-
Cashis sellin units...how many has he moved of county hound...given its a ep? Imo even wit the best he wont be able 2 move game numbers
-
Yeah I just realised CH only sold about 6700 in it's first week (according to wikipedia that is), and that it only reached 106 on Billboard Top 200 :P.
Still, dude's been put off to the side for far too long. I'd rather have his album (or his shelved one) over D-12, Eminem or any other Shady artist (past & present). Slaughterhouse is an exception if they have the correct beats.
-
Thats waz up but i cant go thru a whole album of cashis his flow... Jus aint doin it...seems like hes tryin super extra 2 rap and what he raps about
-
Well that's a problem of taste there, not if Em's planning to release his album anytime soon.
Not saying you have bad taste or anything like that, but you can't please them all.
There are times where his slow flow works though.

Yeah nerestin that cashis was signed and em gave someone like him a chance
-
County Hound ep was all good for a introduction to Cashis, "Miss Jenkins" was dope through and through
-
we'll see what happens. Em gotta step it up and release albums. not pull a dr dre and wait 5 years between eachh relase

Royce Da D'9 Gives Shady Records Update, "Just Because The Paperwork Ain't Done Don't Mean We Ain't Working"
Slaughterhouse's Royce Da 5'9 recently updated fans on the status of his four-member crew's deal with Eminem's Shady Records.
Click here to find out more!
Although Royce claimed they are not yet officially on the roster, he did promise that work on a sophomore Slaughterhouse project has begun.
"Em gave me all types of tracks. Dre beats," Royce said. "Just because the paperwork ain't done don't mean we ain't been working. We definitely been throwing ideas around. [Em] stressed he wants to have a lot of involvement in the project. We want him to be as involved as he wants to be. Anytime he runs an idea by me, I respect him so much, I'm down with it. If he gives me a beat, like, 'Yo, y'all would sound ill on this,' I'm going to record it. That's pretty much what we been doing. He hasn't did no beats and gave me nothing yet, but he has given me a lot of beats from other producers." (MTV)
