It's on my version too man, and mine is the Canadian version too, i'm not from Canada but I copped mine from play.com and it's imported from there. Has anybody here outside Canada actually copped it and not got "The Cross" featured on their copy? Because some people who are saying it's not featured don't even have an original copy of "God's Son".

Mine has it, it's Canadian too tho

I understood....So Nas didn't write this freestyle by himself ??? Or there is a problem ???
Peace
-
"The Cross" is on all versions of "God's Son" atleast over here in the U.S.

The whole thang is that a freestyle isn't supposed to be written, thereby the name "free - style".
If it was a freestyle, it shouldn't have said "written by".
-
Ok Jome aka Kool G Jome!

Why Salaam Remi appears in the credits ? ::)

Why Salaam Remi appears in the credits ? ::)
He appears as a writer cause he "wrote" the melody to the beat. Come on guys.

Thanks Murrow

Uhm, you don't write the melody/beat, you compose it or produce it..
Nas wrote the lyrics, and Salaam made the beat, end of story..

You ever hear of notes to music? They don't do this out of thin air. He prolly used real instruments, which he had to write music to. That is the best explanation to why Salaam Remi is credited.

Yeah my bad, I meant Alchemist of course.
But that wasn't the point of this either way, the case was that it said "Freestyle written by.."

1. Get Down
Samples:
Blackbyrds - Rock Creek Park (from the album "City Life")
-
"I Can" samples "Für Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven
-
"I Can" samples "Für Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven
more like "contains replayed elements from .." since that's not a sample like the impeach beat loop
btw: lol at the stupid discussion about the freestyle/written by thingy ^^
-
If you say so, I never did get the difference between all these terms (Sample, Interpolation, "contains replayed elements from", etc), though I haven't exactly tried to understand, I always just group everything under "Samples." *Shrugs*

brilliant album

me neither actually but it's quite obvious that a sample is only a sample when they actually took the original song and use parts of it in their song as they were without replaying or changing them
best example are voice samples ... let's take nas' track made you look: say you make a new song and want to use nas sayin "you a slave to a page in my rhymebook" on your song ..then you SAMPLE this line from nas' record. if you yourself go in and say these words the same way it's not a (vocal-) sample anymore. same with a melody ..if you take it as it was or cut around it or something from its original source then you sample it.
never thought about interpolation myself..I think there even was another term I saw a few times... don't remember though
