so i was writing a rundown on the emmy nominations on my blog (http://bigbowlofsoup.tumblr.com/) and i kept coming up to the complicated question of which do i like better, mad men or breaking bad... its really close, but i gotta give it to madmen only becasue: i love the fact that its a time peice, and i love that time period, and i love that it deals with an ad agency, something i want to do as a career....
this is an opinion thing, not an objective which is better question.

I'd pick Mad Men too. It's a tighter show and more realistic, but also just as entertaining to me.

I've seen a couple of eps of mad men on BBC (I think) not very appealing to me.I don't see what's entertaining in this kind of series, in all sincerity.
Breaking Bad is up there, hands down.
A science teacher gets cancer and decide to make meth so his family can live well ? Hell, only that is proof enough it's a great show. Now about the "realistic side".. give me break, most of the shows have some odds eps. X-files had some, Prison Break probably has had the most odd eps i have ever seen in a show yet it was "critically acclaimed " worldwide. No really give me a break with that would you.

breaking bad hands down. its without a doubt the best show on tv since the shield. justified isn't that bad either.

Mad Men

only seen a few eps of Breaking Bad and didnt really dig it.
But i loved Mad Men, such a good show, hard to describe really why, it just seems to ooze cool.

I like them both about the same. They're both my current favorite running series.
I voted Breaking Bad just because it leaves me more excited after each episode than Mad Men.
