Recently at the Paid In Full tour, Jay Rock was not allowed to perform. Incidentally. Ice Cube was the headliner. If you remember, Jay Rock had some words towards Cube when he was talking about the "new West" and all the things surrounding that situation.
Here is what Murs had to say to Angela Yee with the video afterwards: “There was some fear on the part of other rappers that there might be something happening, it had nothing to do with me. I love Jay Rock and Kendrick and the whole Top Dog Entertainment crew. It’s just, when certain artists come and you have to provide a certain amount of security for them, and they’re already in fear of what’s gonna happen, and you invite the person they may be in fear of, then he might not perform…but then for somebody to get on stage and talk s**tabout the new West, I’m like yo why would you do that? We’re young kids who respect you, I’m showing you respect. I’m paying you to come out. But maybe he wasn’t talking to me, maybe he wasn’t talking to Jay Rock, I don’t know…”

they dont even know his name, i guess. even they do hes irrelevant to such big industry cats like cube. so i think murs talkin conspiracy.

I respect Murs artistically, but he will NEVER be held in the same regard as Ice Cube. After listening to this portion of the interview my only question is how does he know it was Cube's fear that prevented him from sharing the same stage as Jay Rock. Did he state this to Murs & Co. ? Was he shivering in the back at the mention of Top Dawg Entertainment appearing ? Did Cube specifically say he would not perform if certain people were there ? Maybe he just heard about Jay Rock's twitter comments and felt slighted ? I mean if you're going to discuss this in an interview give people the ENTIRE story not pieces. Let's be honest...just because ------ won't perform if ------- is on the same bill doesn't necessarily mean fear is the root of it. When you reach the tax bracket Mr. Jackson is in, like it or not...you can make things happen or not happen. If Murs wasn't chasing the almighty dollar he should have used his pull to tell Ice Cube to walk and book Jay Rock and friends. Murs can speak on fear all he wants but the truth is....at this point in his career, Cube has enough pennies in his piggybank to make someone disappear.
Just my thoughts, and this is from someone who listens to Jay Rock ;D

Y tell cube 2 walk when 1.cubes the headliner (whos jay rock) 2.jay rock spoke bad bout cube now that dont mean jay rock should b off the bill but cube brings n the $$$ so he should get 2 decide or have a say...again if this is true...sides murs funds part of this series right, if so he should be able 2 get who he wants and if shit happens it happens

My point was... it was right to keep Cube on the bill. But don't go on the radio after the show is over and become some cheerleader for Jay Rock when you could have had him on the show if you really wanted to.

Murs is telling only what he's heard. In these situations there is always a gang of stories, rumors and gossip. I'm not saying this here is a fact but couldn't the fact that Rock has had like no buzz at all this year outside of the whole New West vs Old, which has died already at least two months ago, played a factor in it? I fucks with Rock but Kendrick Lamars EP at the end up last year was better than anything Rock had ever dropped. Rock let the buzz he had die and hasn't recovered since.
