G-Unit leader 50 Cent is considering shelving his upcoming Black Magic album and considering a new direction for his next solo project.

50 said a majority of Black Magic was recorded while touring overseas earlier this year.
"I've written the album, Black Magic, but I'm not sure if it'll be my next album," 50 said in an interview. "Since I've made it back to America, after recording in the UK and different territories while I was on the road, I started writing material that don't quite fit that concept, that album. Black Magic had a specific vibe to it, a different style of music and I was playing with different song structures, music from different genres like rock music -- since I got back, I've been writing some things that don't quite fit that because so many producers were accumulating material to send me more ideas so when I got back, I was kinda bombarded with a whole lot of production. To give you an example, Eminem's Recovery album. He had Relapse and Relapse 2 and I recorded for him on part two but because I was on tour with him during Recovery, we didn't get a chance to work together on that album but he re-wrote the album." EM didn't want him on recovery, and his "verse" on relapse was a joke too, obviously thrown on there long after the track was made

50's career has gone down the shitter, good thing for him- he's rich as fuck.

50 is ancient now....dude is done

His verse on Relapse was dope.

When is he gonna retire? It was supposed to be after BISD? I thought his deal ran up?
-
50 could be creative still... But he needs to work with some new producers and new artists... Im not going to lie "Baby By Me" was sick and got played on the radio and in the clubs alot.
-
Lets hope he does scrap it...and save all of our ears some abuse.
-
let's hope Dre takes heed on this for Detox, atleast for half of it.

The first half of BISD was some bomb ass shit. 8)

Co-sign. After Strong Enough the album dipped quite a bit. Still bump it though.

On his deal with Interscope, he still owes them a "Greatest Hits" project. That doesn't equal retirement. At this point, it seems like he's looking for a label that will work for both him as a solo artist and G-Unit as a label. I know certain artists still have contractual ties to Interscope like Buck and presumably Slim the Mobster.
