Title: Rafa Marquez signs with New York Red Bulls

In a great move for the New York Red Bulls they have signed their final Designated Player, Rafa Marquez. The Mexican defender is a legend at Barcelona where he played with the other high profile Red Bulls signing Thierry Henry. The Red Bulls have made the most of their 3 designated player allocations providing their club with two proven strikers up front in Juan Pablo Angel and Thierry Henry while still getting a veteran player in the back that can still easily play at MLS standards.

Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports that F.C. Barcelona has allowed Rafael Mar quez to leave the club on a free trans fer to the New York Red Bulls and has signed a three year deal with an option for a fourth that is around three million dollars.
