Gotta Say California Love. I love both tunes a great deal but California Love is just a Legendary song, not saying To live and die in L.A. isn't a classic. It's just California Love just has everything.
It has Dr. Dre on Production, Has him as a Feature. Dr. Dre Who is a Original N.W.A member, the guy who made the G-Funk and West Coast 90s era what it was.
Plus Roger Troutman, I don't even need 2 state what his influence was on the Era.
Cali Love will probably get more votes because when you analyze the song, and what went into it.It's just done on a Greater Scale on everything. Production, Features, Lyrics.
Still Both great Tunes. Only thing I think Live and Die in L.A. Has going for it, It's 1 of Makavelis Last records, and That laid back feeling, Which is essentially the complete opposite of Cali Loves Party vibe.

To Live & Die In L.A. is better lyrics-wise, but Cali Love got that classic Dre beat ;D CL got played out long time ago tho due to overwhelming radio and club play. Gotta got with TL&DIL then, still got that fresh sound to me.

California love: the other is alright, but not as good

Both tracks are classics but I have to go with "California Love" - that was one of West Coast's Top 3 biggest hits ever! Shit still gettin' hella spins in the radio these days and it's been almost 15 years since it dropped..

Got to say To Live And Die In L.A.
Classic summertime track. One of those laid back QD3 beats with that awesome Prince sample. Nothing gangsta about it. Straight hip-hop.
